i don't think motorola have the best hardware at all, the backflip and dext are terribly made phones.

battery capacity often depends on how much the users use the phone anyway.

and motorola better than htc? lol ur funny. All brands> moto

2.1 would be "nice to have", but overall I'm quite happy with my Cliq even running on 2.1....the keyboard is one of the best around.

gosh columnist, do you have to say "Surely they will think twice before buying another Moto smartphone?"
now im starting to think gsmarena is biased after all... its a shame, i kept reading good news about nokia and samsung, but other brands like motorola, there is always a negative feedback from you and you make it look obvious...

motorola has cool phones, they have the best hardware you could find... and a high capacity battery, what more could you find...

surely nokia, htc, samsung also have great features, but they lack a good battery that could last long...

over all, i think motorola is the best among the rest, followed by samsung, then htc, then sony ericsson, and finally nokia...
            in other words MOTOROLA>SAMSUNG>HTC>SONY ERICSSON>NOKIA...

you should have an unbiased article next time...

[deleted post]A custom 2.1 ROM should work on all Dext/Cliq devices inside and outside of the US, you just have to root your phone. And rooting it is as simple as jailbreaking an iPhone.

No wonder why no one wants moto products and their market share keep shrinking! What a joke, after waiting for 1 year for the update, they just release it in the states lol.

I've got 2.1 on my Cliq since the leaked ROM months ago. Even Dext users can root and install a 2.1 ROM, even ones without the resource-hog Blur UI.

A real shame that only US users are getting the official update. Oh well, the guys at XDA will certainly get that ported and usable on the rest of the world's handsets anyway.

Yes.. I know that this update is meant for US only.. But will using it on a mobile that's outside US give any problem? won't it work just the same??
