i dont see much problem with this..all samsung phones usually end up having heating issues..and bad battery life..i skipped over the s6 series just because of this. however my dad is happy with his note 5 and i'm perfectly alright with my s7 edge...in contrast my ipad pro is heating up like anything..people don't notice it because of the thick cases with stands and stuff they use on their ipads..

The public must now realized that Samsung is no longer the flagship king in Android.
This throne shall be awarded to HTC since Google has confidence in them in making Nexus phones.

Easy guess; all newly setup phones have odd battery usage scenarios for the first few days.
Lots of apps downloading, installing and being configured (screen on time), whilst system updates happen, and all user settings are 'setup'.
We see the same questions being posed by newbie smartphone owners, and secondtime smart phone owners nearly daily across many of the phones listed here on gsmarena.
The 'overheating' might be all sorts of backend system settling in the first few days, and shorter battery life is expected on initial use and until the battery figures out its' power cycle.
I never consider my battery performance until the third recharge, done 'slowly'.
Sorry but 'fast charged' devices seem to drain faster as well (YMMV).
Being a Note 7 user, and not wanting to replace it (but having too..) this article heading freaked me out.
As I read it I realised this is just standard usage of a new phone and would be the same for most, if not all, new phones.
So yeah; only cause we are freakin out and paying close attention is it being noticed.
Once I have had my replacement unit for two weeks I will consider its usage per charge.
The only thing I am worried about is if my audio quality drops; the headphone output (even bluetooth output) is really nice.
So something in the way the phone is handling the files and definately in the protocol 'handshake' with bluetooth devices- this phone is doing unreal...
The headphone sound output is probably one of the best I have heard; certainly from a 'one box' solution (exynos variant tested!)

Note7 overheating? I think the media is overeacting! Like seriously, this news is so 3 days ago. Why even bother to speak of it again? It so obvious now that Note7 is every company target to take down. Overheating and battery drain are such a common issues but they are making a big deal out of it. Totally immature of the media to do this. Super obvious the media is NITPICKING on everything about Note7. I bet they would complain about little things like Note7 camera a little blurry or they found a scratch on Note7 or its not charging fast enough, something like that. Please stop this ridiculousness! I feel so embarassed to see the media stoop so low at this level just to bring Samsung down.

Samsung please take your time with the replacement process. Handing inadequately quality tested products to customers is not what a responsible company should do.
