I see TARANTULA saying tht moto's design is repetitive. But i dont think SE design is somehow different. They're repeating the design since K700.She/He seem to miss out tht thing.Weird, huh?

motorola phones are better than lg's all the way.samsung's phones are better than lg's and motorola's.what samsung needs is to personalize their phones.e.g. i bought samsung d600 and after 2 months samsung introduced like 20 phones with better design and feutures.about these phones their good additions to moto's phones.

No doubt about this: youll find better phones, with good design, more features in LG and samsung, in clamshells and sliders... its sure!

These phones are nothing to get excited about. As for the people who hate them, we have to realize that Motorola is only good at making business phones. If you want a really fun phone, look elsewhere!

The already seen design of these phones is absolutely nice (that is no question!), but the user interface of any Moto phone is a complete mess, really useless. I personnaly know quite a number of people who were seduced by the looks of V3, and TOTALY dissapointed by the usability, the very same day they have bought the phone... most of them replaced their V3's for something else in no time at all! Old Motorola Talkabout was a real torture to use when it was actual in early days, V3 did not make many steps further from that....

Motos rox :) When I got my SLVR I really hated this phone. Now I adore it! It has great sound quality for its money. So all motohaters just shut up, please!

I'm amazed at many of the comments posted here. Quite a few seem to be cantankerous Moto haters who will hate Moto phones even if they sell SE phones with a MOT label on them! :) Kinda like they've sold MOT stock short and are hating the market reaction to new phone announcements (in case noone's noticed, MOT stock has skyrocketed since the announcement). Anyway, my 2c are: Yes... many of these phones are loosely based on the RAZR design, but they are all unique enough to create a lot of desire. Today, a friend in MOT actually showed me a proto version of the RIZR and all I can say is WOW! The look, the feel, everything about it is SLEEK and SEXY! Feature wise, if anyone is basing their purchase decision on 2MP vs 3MP, and comparing the functionality of these thin phones w/ that of the rather portly SE or NOK phones, then all I have to say is that I don't expect MOT is targeting them as consumers. If 5 out of 100 consumers based their purchase decision on max feature list, and 50 base it on a balance between design and features... guess who to go after!? :) MOT is doing the right thing for now. I suspect that as we get into mid-2007, we'll start seeing some other really cool designs from MOTO..

Motorola's new phones are crap. It's no different than a V3 with some upgraded specs. The look is 'essentially' the same. This goes for the OS as well.

if they're gonna follow something they should release the a1200 in NA as its the only moto phone i like, and i used moto since the 8000 brick series and every phone up to the startac, they lost me with timeport (WTF!) and only just got me back with the a1200.

You are absolutely right. All the motos after the Razor are razor like. They are milking this thing to the fullest. I don't hate on moto, but now that I think about it I haven't have a moto phone in quite sometime b/c of this fact. They need something revolutionary like the V70 was.

I think about this launch:
first: motorola will improve the user interface... the UI is the worst of all manufacturers.
second: Motorola style are repetitive, since RAZR success all motos are the same thing with a few changes: RAZR, SLVR, RIZR, KRZR and etc.
third: you will find a lot of models with almost the same desing, some of them have better features with more small and thin phones like some jewels of LG and samsung.
Fourth: Moto put more effort in develop other solutions with better features, 2MP in the 3MP age??, improve their cameras, mp3 players, et, usabilityc.
fifth: If moto make a phone with the features of N80 (without bugs and poor battery life), with K800 camera quality, with video recording of N93, with mp3 player of SE W950... All features in small, sleek and thin clamshell like V3 i am sure about of the success of it, it will be a real best seller.
But it is only a dream, badly, motorola is knowed by excelent design, high price and really poor features

These phones are a great release from Motorola. The specs are just right. 2MP is great on these phones. Why the need for a 3MP or higher camera...? I pull out my digital camera for that. Plus I dont think that anyone can compare Moto's VGA camera quality. I've printed pictures from my L7 and they are quit good. Having lots and lots of MP dosent mean anything but marketing. The V3 Maxx is a sleak phone. Ive seen it in the Motos release in Chicago and the phone is great. The glass flip with hidden touch buttons for music is an option that fits the phone well. The 2MP camera is amaizing quality. Keypad is sleak as can be, and the display is cristal sharp. Typing an SMS as fast as possible without any lag. Pictures in thumbnail view is also great. These phones will be a great hit. GO MOTO!!!!!!

Well, from a technological standpoint, I think that the KRZR, RIZR and MAXX are all steps in the right direction. The KRZR takes the original RAZR and beefs up the memory and the camera. The RIZR does the same thing in a slider form factor. And the MAXX is Motorola's answer to the 3G services in Europe.
However, I do agree that however successful it may be, the entire v3 line is getting a bit stale. When everyone and their mother has a RAZR, it's nice to get something different that no one else has, so you don't feel like a drone.
