AnonD-538833, 01 Oct 2016What, History's greatest smartphone S7/S7 edge is not even ... moreIt is because the S7 is too expensive for the market. We are talking about China. You know, that place with all the ''flagship killers'' under 500$? The S7 is a super-premium phone that comes with a similar price. Although you get advantages such as very mainstream support and unique features, Samsung really has a hard time selling phones in China. The C series is here to help, but Samsung has to make an effort to adapt to the market (I mean offer high-end devices with high-end SoC, not lame 6xx SoC)

AnonD-538833, 01 Oct 2016What, History's greatest smartphone S7/S7 edge is not even ... moreThat's because in china iPhone are seen as a symbol of wealth. That's also the reason why the oppos sell very well, they're blatant rip-off.

In some country offline sales still hold majority sales of mobile phone. I cant show the data in here but in my country roughly the comparison is 80:20 where 80% is offline and 20% is online.
People tend to see the device, asking suggestion from the sales person, walking from 1 store to another and compare it head to head in his hand right in the face, not just open it on a web browser, and this habit is part of the culture.
So no wonder if certain phone is more preferred during the moment of purchase especially if the sales person pushing it to the customer.
And about samsung galaxy s7 edge, well maybe in your country where mobile network provider offer a great contract deal which make the monthly payment low attract a lots of people to buy it, but many country is not offer such kind of service so every phone is off contract which means all premium price is must be paid in front and its a hefty money. This makes phone price like note 7, s7 edge, s7 not much differ with iphone and some times iphone is cheaper.
And 1 more in my country and maybe same thing applied to some country, apple manage to brain washed people with the images that if you are using iphone then you are better then other people or at least by wealth status, although we know this is not true, but that is the power of marketing.
So with both of condition above this left only few open market for competition premium phone class.
In my country asus is leading, samsung is next and it is because of phone like J series and below.
Last, just a little story among my friend where I can say they are in middle to high class by their wealth, and it is not just 1 2 friend but hundred of friend during gatherin, the majority is iphone, following by asus, xiaomi and yea samsung in A and J series. And about galaxy S7 / s7 edge well its like only less then 10 people use it. So yea maybe samsung or apple lead in your country but the same thing happen in other countries.

What, History's greatest smartphone S7/S7 edge is not even in the top 5. LOL, I guess either S7/S7 edge phones are not as good as the reviewers claimed it to be or Chinese people are getting smart about spending their money on buying phones instead of blinding believing sponsored reviewed by samsung. My bet is on the 2nd one.

It is just the second tier and third tier cities all buying oppo. If they showed the sales numbers from tier 1 cities it would be a different story

and this makes me really sad. Considering how good other Chinese manufacturers are compared to Oppo, namely, Xiaomi, Meizu and Lenovo, this high Oppo sales number is really beyond me

AnonD-428442, 01 Oct 2016Oppo is the number one market share in China. Their phones ... moreOppo and Vivo are both nice devices. But let's be realistic. They have got this with insanely huge retail presence, selling mid range spec devices as flagships in a nice shell at prices much higher than Xiaomi. Their super thin exteriors made possible because the mid range specs don't require the same power draw or heat desipitation. Everyday Joe walks in and just thinks hey look how good this looks, it's just like a super thin iPhone.
As soon as you get a good device, which is typically hard to source, like the Vivo Xplay 5 elite, it becomes huge in form and price.

OmNom, 01 Oct 2016Some one needs to do a better job Proofreading these :/, th... moreIt's not. The F1 Plus is an iPhone ripoff with last year's chip, medicore battery life, and an overhyped front camera. The rear camera is the only thing on the device that's above average.

AnonD-287672, 01 Oct 2016How TF does oppo sell so well ?Oppo is the number one market share in China. Their phones are actually quite expensive. They are more premium than Xiaomi. It shows you that even the Chinese want more and can afford to pay more. Heck, the number 2 on the lists in the article is an iPhone.

I bought 15 flagship smartphones since 2011 ... all physically purchased over the counter ... none ordered online ... maybe because of a bad experience l had earlier with a laptop purchase online.
