These have more Google genes than even the Nexus phones before them.

To be honest I don't mind the chin as I wouldn't press keys accidently and somewhere to hold. Another review said it grew on him too. The card slot doesn't bother be as plenty of storage and cloud. Actually my HTC A9 has 190gig with card. I was silly as even using it for business I am not going to use not even half that.

Even if the phone wasn't Google I would be kinda interested as its HTC quality but it's Google and that company has gone all out to show how good Android can be and is now the best Android phone ever made. I'm super impressed with the artificial intelligence. Unlike Siri it's more of a true assistant. They entered this with homework done and sits alongside apple I guess but Google and what they do for the world with Maps, search etc and free and many other innovations. Is worth supporting. This phone is a new beast. And the build has character. Wish I had it for a Christmas present. Dreaming. :-)

Fitbri, 18 Oct 2016Just out today REVIEW: Google's first phone makes Siri lo... moreThanks for the link. Here's why I think the Pixel line is run-of-the mill...

    No card slot
Big chin with soft keys on the screen (Google, [err, HTC, cough] are you kidding?)
    Kind of thick
Kind of heavy (granted, the nice-sized battery contributes)
    Overpriced

Ask yourself, if this phone did not have the Google brand attached to it and the mega-press that goes along with it, would you even care about the phone given its specifications and capabilities?

I'm not saying it is a bad phone, it just lacks certain features and has some poor design choices considering the price.

Please stop making it out to be something its not and accept that you're just overpaying in the name of...what was it...Quality. Thats a heft bill to pay, isn't it?

AnonD-593759, 07 Oct 2016 Still i don't understand why people keep comparing pixel ... moreNo Sir. The reason is because it is being compared to the other "underdog" gems of smartphones available in the market.

This isn't a household name like Apple or Samsung, so in order the accurately gauge the market penetration, it needs to hold up against the other underdogs first. Have you seen the camera on the Huwawei P9. Dual Leica lenses. Picture quality that no iphone built to date can beat.

Still i don't understand why people keep comparing pixel with OnePlus, xiaomi and Huawei. Why dont You compare iPhone with them ? Before you start, let me tell the answer. It's because iPhones even after being underspecced deliver quality performance and have great trust and brand value. And so is pixel.(Its not an htc phone but A Google phone instead).

So if you compare pixel with the likes of these low cost Chinese brands then please dont buy them. I am not saying that xiaomis and lenovos are bad. I agree they deliver some quite good specs at low cost but pixel is not just meant for you if specs are the only things you see in a phone. If i had a maximum budget of say $400, then obviously i will go for a mi or Lenovo vibe series . But if all i am looking for a premium quality smartphone with brand assurance and hassle free ui i will go for a pixel. Pricing is absurd, agreed .But so is that of an iPhone.

And as far as competition with iphone is concerned i don't think that pixels will not be able to give a stiff competition to iphones. Because think from the perspective of a person who can buy iPhone 7 . You get premium build, Regular updates, best software and AI and brand assurance of Google. At premium markets these are the things that make a difference and not some 6gb ram or other bullshit.

Accept it guys, We are angry because we were expecting a nexus but this phone was never meant to be that. Its goddamm premium segment phone build to break into apple' pie of share. And being a user of both iphone 6 and nexus 6p i dont think why will i not prefer to choose pixel over iPhone 7.

I just hate the back of the phone. That dual tone surfaces feel really cheesy. It would look way nicer if entire back was of one or another material...

I don't mind 32GB thanks to Googles excellent cloud storage options, just wish they released a 64GB version because that's the storage space I usually select. Even OP is a better option when it comes to accessibility.

AnonD-312515, 05 Oct 2016Half the price and 100% unavailable outside of China haha I bought 3 Xiaomi phones and sold them off (one for a friend, two for sale).
International shipping, my friend, makes wonders. Although it may be hard in some countries.

In case of my country, some large retailers have a steady supply of Xiaomi products now and offer some sort of 1 year warranty. So its more or less "safe" to purchase it.

Unlike Google Nexus phones - no large retailers have these. Only small companies, so there's no real warranty. Funny, isn't it?

                              AnonD-593759, 06 Oct 2016Thank you buddy.No worries
Even three years from now you'd still be able to enjoy Android 'Q' or Andromeda(?), no matter if you bought brand new iPhone 10 then.

I was waiting for the pixel phones having been a nexus 5 user for 3 years but seriously Google what is that price about? £719 for a 32gb xl? Get a oneplus 3 with almost stock android and double the storage, and an active developer community and still have £390 change to spend.

AnonD-593759, 06 Oct 2016Guys i need your help. I have used stock Android phones til... moreiPhone is not as good as it hyped.

If it were 2013, things would be different. I also bragged about iPhone and lashed out Android back then. But the game was turned in this few years... When I switched my daily driver to Android from iPhone 6 , the only thing I missed was clickable home button (Samsung? ..no thanks personally. And clickable home key has gone on iPhone7).

Look at somebody who sing the praise of iOS over Android on the internet, you'll notice that what they call "Android" means a few years old Samsung or something out-dated phone they used to use. They don't know Marshmallow and above, they don't know action launcher, (and goes on..)

World has changed, Pixel'd be way to go IMO.
