Even a google fan myself won't consider buying the phone.
It just feel so not google aside from the software.
The phone looks likd a brick, the hardware is just ordinary, and price is high.
I'd expect sth special sth more pratical from the new release. Sth it should have to differentiate and compete with other phones.
But there's none.

There is huge a chin at the bottom. Wasted space. They should have thrown capacitive buttons down there with option to enable/disable just like OnePlus 3 implementation.

Wow, I thought the Note7 and iPhone 7 were expensive. This takes the biscuit. Great camera, Snap Dragon 821 and Google assistant but where are the other features to justify the expense... Waterproofing, Stereo speakers, expandable storage, 6gb Ram, HiFi audio playback, Stylus etc? What's with the big bezels?

The way I look at it a lot of people are going to wait until it prices down. And what's going to happen next? OnePlus releases the 4 with Snapdragon 830 in may or june next year and by that time it's 50% faster than the Pixels and will still be 100 or 200 euro's cheaper. I love Nexus (Pixel) but the competition is just too good and too fast. I guess this was the last Nexus for me.

with such a high price tag i don't see this selling, since you get two Oneplus3 for the same amount, not to mention you get an Iphone7 or Galaxy s7 for the roughly same amount. Not that we didn't expect that with insane HTC price policies of late. Looks like Google wants to play in the major league, not bringing anything extra to the table which would justify this price.
With the armada of good chinese phones for half of the Pixel's price (Xiaomi, Meizu, Letv) this is ridiculous. But hey, maybe Google did market research and people are willing to shell out a grand for a G. I'm not:)

xiaomi mi5s seems to be better if not less, aside from the latest os. android still android. unless google stop license or close its Android OS to all oem phones makers and be iOS style. premium price for a common phone. save your money and make the war ends rather waste for a phone that just only display the Ads banners.

DxO still didn't test the Xperia XZ and LG V20, which is odd because these two phones were announced at IFA, while the XZ is already on sale. Why rate Pixel phones on day 1, but delay Xperia XZ and LG V20?
