With each Android update, the device becomes more intrusive, infringing on privacy, and sometimes even unstable. I wouldn't mind a good stable OS. New is not always better, and frankly I question constant updates. If things were done right the first time, why the need for constant updates?

Apple devices are lower spec'd, which is why their devices do not "overheat" as much as the higher end Android devices. Their latest offering, the iPhone 7/7 Plus is still sporting 2GB of RAM, while ASUS is pushing 6GB. As far as Android SoC's, that also is a broad brush to paint with. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S7 running Samsung's Exynos SoC, outperforms the Samsung Galaxy S7 running Qualcomm's Snapdragon with better heat dissipation. This is not to say that Apple makes an inferior product. I happen to like their devices, albeit expensive for what you get, but the argument should be focused on Qualcomm's SoC and not the entire Android world which would include MediaTek, Samsung and Intel.

What else proof do manufacturers need that Qualcomm has been sitting on its ass and doing nothing..I mean look at the Apple A10 Fusion chip, that thing is what i call a beast. There just cant be a difference that big between apple and android even if it has been 6 months. And on top of that apple managed to do all that without the device overheating. Maybe next year this qualcomm and samsung colab will result in a better Soc. I'm waiting for when nvidia and amd start making mobile Gpu's. Currently however the android Soc market is pathetic. Its so unfair.

I would not call 2 years of OS updates "years of experience". Apple supports iPhone for 5 years. Google supports their underpowered device for 2 (+1 year of security updates).
This one slow overpriced phone.

I noticed the processor speed on some of the tests were the same as the 820. I have to wonder if the pre-production units have been throttled to camouflage the 821 processor. A lot of leakers were saying "it's an 820, look at the clock speed"... But it isn't. ;)
Just something to think about.

The difference between the Snapdragon 820 to a Snapdragon 821 is a 10% speed improvement. the difference between a Snapdragon 810 to a Snapdragon 821 is the 821 is 70% faster.

Nexus devices never benchmarked well,other android flagships topped the benchmarks but nexus devices of same spec ran smoother than the benchmark leaders and I guess that is the case with Pixel.
821 has a higher clock speed on both the core clusters and its more efficient according to Qualcomm so the 821 is not just a rebadged 820 IMO.
