Sony always research the camera sensor,they always leading, the competitors thought they had the latest sensor, but soon will become the last generation sensor, because Sony create and invent it.

It's great but sony seem's to be a major threat to major oem's because of i'ts undeniably amazing software integrated into a weak imx 300 sensor an yet manages to hold the title of the best smartphone camera in the market,Who knows? in later days sony might push a new sensor with i'ts amazing software and sony will demolish it again and take a great lead,No wonder that's easy for a japanese company like sony!!!!!!

Given the best sources (non printed) are specialist monitors, mostly not even revealing 8 megapixel/million pixels.
Printouts will have more colour range than monitors, but not a lot of call for poster sized prints from mobile phones either...
optical stabilisation is a big thing to aid in photography and will render more usable shots.
Would rather twelve-sixteen pixels of focused and well exposed photograph rather than twenty plus megapixels of unresolvable mess.
True, in daylight, most cameras take a nice fast/sharp photo; low light is a good test of capabilities. Sony sensors are great, how they are implemented on the other hand will vary their total performance...

random, 08 Oct 2016sony will lose again soon. lolWell, I'm sorry to tell you but Sony always wins with camera. Xperia Z5 got the best camera in 2015 and it took 2016 flagships just to beat the Z5. Even then, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are still inferior to the Z5 (87 vs 86) and people are complaining that it isn't true. Seriously, what's wrong with you people? Can't you just admit that Sony has the best camera smartphones in the world and move on?
