This is very unfortunate. People already started questioning the quality behind these products.
For Apple mostly and others this will be a good thing, since most of Note 7 users will change to iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, while those who waited for Pixel phones and were dissappointed by how they were presented and the price, will probably go to others also.
This looks like the dieselgate of smartphones.

AnonD-92238, 11 Oct 2016if it was apple, they would say "you're charging it wrong"They can even claim, " you were born wrong, you are a wrong human" and people would still support them.

How media can destroy a perfectly good phone...
First, Note 7 doesn't "explode". It starts smoking and maybe there is a little fire. Nobody was hurt. Also, all incidents happened while people held their phones in their pocket or used them, so it is obviously outside pressure which makes the phone light up. It won't happen if you just leave it on your table over night. So there is almost no danger for people, unless you are a complete idiot and leave the phone in your pocket after it starts smoking. And even then, you would only get slight burns
Now, there obviously is something wrong and it should be recalled, but I don't understand why people say to cancel Note7 entirely. They will find the problem, fix it and in a month or two we will get a great phone in stores finally
And third, people say something like, "now they'll care more about quality control"... Yes, they will. And who do you think will pay for that extra quality? Us, consumers. Phones are to expensive as it is, and with added quality control due to this incidents, S8 and Note8 will cost even more

SDKforLumia , 11 Oct 2016In the meanwhile, IPhone users worldwide be like, "Oh what ... moreSo anything goes wrong with Samsung, the blames goes apple. Pathetic. Grow up.. Im a Samsung user for years , used all all note variants . I got my Note 7 replaced last week being on queue for 3 hours standing. Now the phone display got broken from a mere fall from my pocket and Samsung charging me another 300 $ for the fix . How pathetic and disappointed i am. The phone just slips out of my pocket while pulling off and the edge display got broken. I have been using iphone 6 for 2 years now. Fall from my hand several times , still phone is working smooth as it is when i brought it new though it is 128 GB version and im left with 17 gb left . No more Samsung products, i will look for another android device , LG or HTC
Hats off to Apple, at least no disappoints for the money i paid .

Looks like it's not the battery that's the problem, something else at fault, removable batteries couldn't prevent this issue.
