I don't know why it is a big deal to switch to LCD from amoled. Unless the color is 0,0,0 there is not much difference in power consumption. I have even seen some articles saying that when displaying white LCDs are more efficient.

It is high time Oneplus launches a variant . Since latest model is Oneplus 3 is the latest model , a 6 inch model of it will be very popular. Just imagine , 6 inch display ,SD821 with 6gb ram , 64 gb rom .....wooow !!!! Please provide at least a 4500 mah battery and FHD display. Perfect for media consumption. Now after using 5.5 incher for such a long time , 6 incher will be more than welcome.

The backorder is actually more like 5 weeks. Ordered mine 3 weeks ago and am being told I might have in two weeks. Not happy!

Ever since my Nexus 6 screen shattered, and I had to go back to my LG G2, I've been dying for another big screen phone. Hoping this rumor is true.

"This new device was said to be a larger phablet with a 6 inch screen and Snapdragon 821 CPU."

Performing function here is "new"....If this pans out then I don't see why current 1+3 owners should get pissed about?

            3 things:-
            1. Unless SD821 really is miles ahead of 820 at overall efficiency, what people should really focus on and scrutinize is the code side of things.

            2. And you really want that larger battery that should come with that 6" chassis.

            3. If it's new and larger it's not a refresh.

It means committing to live with .5" larger screen estate with the physical dimensions involved. Sounds trivial I know (to me it is) but not a lot of my friends that I know of can easily or even want to scale up when they're already used to and comfortable with phones they already got.

I've been reading around lately and the general consensus is that 1+3 at least beats out 6P/angler at battery life more than half the time on top of better performance. I honestly think that that should be more than enough to cover your needs for years to come.

No AMOLED? Well, damn it. Won't go back to LCD unless there are no AMOLED's available. :( 6" sounds good, I've been waiting for a upgrade for my Nexus 6 in next year.

I owned super amoled... moreof course PenTile AMOLEDs are crap that hardly can match proper RGB LCD panel . wrong colors , saturation and less sharp overall are more than enough reason to go against AMOLED not to mention those burn-in issues .

I owned super amoled packing devices from samsung in the past and everytime I switched to a phone packing an LCD screen I just feel more pleased looking at it.

Shortage of panels...most likely a shortage of $$$$ to buy said panels.
Oppo is big on buying in batches, then making devices, selling them, pooling the money back into buying more, shaving off any profits. The OnePlus arm doesn't really make "much" profit, and with bugs, returns etc, that just eats into it more. Now they will probably put an plain LCD panel in it, because it is CHEAPER, throw in an 821 processor and some other crap and CHARGE more for basically the same thing.

I just got off the phone with OnePlus customer support. There are no US Soft Gold OnePlus 3's in stock. The Graphite OnePlus 3 is at least 3 weeks in back order as mine isn't currently due to ship until the 25th with a 5 day shipping window and I ordered on September 30th.

So do yourself a favor. Do not order a OnePlus 3 until next month or get an Axon 7 instead.

Make a 5-5.2" device with the same specs (smaller battery, of course) and body and I'd be all over it.

Can't get on board the phablet bandwagon.
