Look, a TABLET using SD430 is already WEIRD. If only they use SD625, it might be reasonable to priced it ~US$300, as the maker of the phone is Foxconn, a Taiwanese ODM company, NOT NOKIA like it used to be, therefore they can made the device CHEAPER (U might don't know, but ALL phone component MADE IN CHINA cost CHEAPER than everywhere else).
By using SD430, NOKIA NOT PLANNED to equip the device with the feature u might expect on US$300 device, such as fingerprint scanner, retina display, and so on.
See, SD430 is just another SoC made by Qualcomm in order to compete MediaTek SoC which offer best "bang for buck" SoC; EXCELLENT CPU performance combined with GOOD to DECENT GPU from Mali T8xx at UNBEATEABLE price Qualcomm never dare to offer.
My last reason, tablet era has been long gone. Now, people want a "big screen" phone which still compact enough in ur pocket, equipped with POWERFUL SoC like SD650/652 or Helio X20 useful for both productivity & entertainment.
Still defend Nokia for their ILLOGICAL pricing of SD430-powered D1C? Then u ARE FANBOYS

convensing feature, just need a convensing price and design. and, im wondering about the ui. is nokia gonna add the stock android or a custom ui. more of all, nougat 7.1 is the must.

As long as it's a Nokia.. I'll buy it and use it as a phone.. I've used the N-Gage taco phone proudly before.. Why not this humongous tablet to your face while talking.. Imagine slapping this tablet to a thief try to snatch my bag.. Can't wait

It is the size that made the price go up.. At that size it can easily use up to 4 times the material for casing and battery inside.. How naive of you to expect the pricing is only based on the SOC inside.. You can see HDTV with no smart SOC at a higher price because of its size and people buy it.. Don't be a fool and jump to conclusions.. Wait for the real Nokia phone and then comment

Look, NOKIA is a NEW PLAYER in Android Market. ALL NEW PLAYER have to abide these rules to stay in Android phone market:
- Keep the price competitive.
- Use mid-to-high SoC to attract both NEWBIE & GEEK into buying ur device.
- Add "gimmick(s)" to increase their device selling points (well, this part is where Nokia is excel at, so no worries there)
Look at Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Asus; those 3 brands become SO FAMOUS in just 4-5 years in Android world because they abide these 3 rules.
So, if NOKIA stays with SD430, no matter what other specs they might add to that device, and sold their Android devices at ~US$300, ONLY A MORON or NOKIA DIE-HARD fanboys would willingly BUY that JUNK...
p.s. by the way, my guess is Nokia is still in "testing the water" phase in entering Android phone market.
IF, and only if, their D1C get a "heart-warming welcome" sales at their INSANE pricing of ~US$300, they might be motivated to become "the second coming of crApple";
making CRAP phone, advertise it as EXCELLENT piece of art, "brainwash" people to accept what they do & act, then sold it at INSANE price. With that strategy, no matter what they do or act, ALL their fanboys will defend them & will buy EVERY SINGLE DEVICE Nokia has made.
In essence, please be a customer that can "control" the manufacturer, DO NOT be a customer that "being controlled" by the manufacturer, like what happened with iphone DIE-HARD fanboy that STILL BUY iphone7, albeit no 3.5mm jack, scratch-prudent home button & camera lenses, and SLOW write speed on iphone 7 32GB
