The only one point you made is that they might have had to been pushed initially.

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2016You people are crazy. They went out of their way to rec... moreOh please.
Samsung didn't even initiate an official recall until the US regulator got upset.
Samsung seemingly offer good response in countries like US since US has strong consumer protection laws to begin with, thus they had to. Remember, the one who apologized first was the US CEO. The big boss from Korea did not apologize until the final cancellation of the model.
Venture outside US/western europe, where consumer protection laws are not that great or even exist, Samsung just behaved as arrogant as usual.

Take Singapore. On the first round of recalls, users cannot get refunds/exchanges. They have to submit their phones during a very limited window (only a few weeks) and then wait for the exchanged units. And yes, people had to go out of their way to book appointments and go to Samsung/carrier stores. Samsung didn't care. It's not until the final cancellation of the whole lineup that Samsung actually allowed refunds. This is not how you treat your most premium customers.

In S.Korea, Samsung has a strong control over the media. The fact that there are news about this lawsuit means that the problem is so huge that even the controlled media cannot just sweep it under the rug.

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2016Samsung has always treated their customers like crap. Karm... moreYou people are crazy.

They went out of their way to recall all units at their own expense.

And when the safe ones had an issue that could have been a fluke they discontued it for everyones saftey to do the right thing.

And then they even announced that they would take every single note7 unit for money.
EVERY SINGLE ONE. Even if its second bought off ebay or craigslist or friends or you find it on the street.

            What more could they do??????

people getting desperate to take a cut, take advantage of a situation, funny humans. I'm pretty sure that not even 3% were really affected by the Note7 issue, but still they want some money.. just because it is possible.. LOL

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2016That's why it's a reasonable compensation demand No its not, when you are stressed by your $850 phone, the compensation must exceed at least the price of the phone. $850 + cost of stress = compensation.

I have joined my local court case against Samsung. We now have over 100 ex Samsung Note 7 on the case. If they don't settle the case soon we'll take it to the federal government courts.

That means anyone who bought a Note 7 can join the class action. This could cost billions.
