distributor, 04 Dec 2010sorry that we talk about other topic . dude SYMBIAN sup... moreYou should read what I said again. I said that Symbian utilizes RAM and CPU better, thus it not needing high specs. Can it support it? Yes. You just write new drivers, which I am more then sure that Nokia guys can do.

Also, what exactly is wrong with nHD resolution? Mind you this is a 3.5" screen, so having a huge resolution doesn't really do much. I have a N900 with a resolution at 800 x 480. And I have used a N8 with it's 640 x 320. I didn't notice the difference. Just because you know they have a difference makes you immediately bag on the lower, but if you would not know the resolution of either device, you would not care or notice. Same with the rest of the hardware.

To the end user it matters, sure. And I am pretty sure that is why no end user has SE. The rest of the world doesn't care much, they look at what apps are available and how good a phone's design is. Specs matter not to them.

distributor, 04 Dec 2010- 360 x 640 pixels - is too poor - 256MB RAM , 680 MHz pro... moreI don't ever recall this topic saying anything about the N8, but either way lets look at your argument. Hardware and software are not one in the same. In fact software can make the crappiest hardware look good.

Symbian is a platform that needs little horsepower to run great. Second, there are barely any apps that utilize the whole 512MB of RAM or all 1GHz. Want to know why? Because most of the market for Android consists of phones that do not have those specs, the ones that are in the 256MB category. So it's a lot easier for developers to create an app around that then to optimize it for high and mid range.

I will even give you an example. Take a professional race car driver and put him in your car, and you will get his race car. Chances are, he will still beat you despite you having the better car. Because it is the driver that makes the difference, not the car. Same in the tech world. The software makes the difference, not the hardware.

Although I LOVE NOKIA, I must agree that thats low resolution UNLESS they throw some AMOLED with Clear Blak Display, then you have yourself a bada** devise. I really hope they don't release it with LCD. That would SUCK. I'm also glad that they are stepping their game up quickly, can't wait for MeeGo.

It seems very clear that alot of bashing is going on and those who are bashing definely don't know what they are talking about. Nokia still dominate the market and it definely shows by the numbers and Apple as well as Android numbers have been proven to be misleading. The N900 sold more then what was mention and as a matter of fact Nokia didn't have anymore available not even on their websites. Android os is way overrated and Iphone os is good but the same as when it first came out similar to the symbian os which has done well and the past and now. Android keeps coming out with new software with different names to get basically where symbian and maemo are already at. Nokia keeps setting the standards with smartphones. The first with 5megapixel cameras and multitasking and etc.. Android isn't as open as you may think and they put you and their ecosystem just like Apple and Microsoft new phones. Symbian and Maemo is as open as you can get.

[deleted post]Yes, they will use symbian even if Meego gets ready & popular. It is the os that made them the king in the mobile world, do u think they will dump symbian. No way, especially the rumored symbian 4. And s60 3rd will be in lower midrange phones.

That's also true but, comparing to OS, all of of those are minor disadvantages!

I think if everything goes right with Nokia- Intel, like stable software, large developers & if it attracts other manufacturers then within 2014 - 2015 Meego can become No.1 OS, Symbian too has the potential to be in demand, if the rumored symbian 4 gets worked on technologically (advantage of QT). Web OS has good potential (if they work on it seriously). Other OS like Android, iOS, RIM OS are among the Best. In future I think this will be the demand :- 1) Meego 2) Symbian 3) Android 4) iOS 5) RIM OS 6) Windows Phone 7 OS 7) Web OS 8) Baada OS (not sure of this). Great competition is awaiting ahead which is beneficial for us the users.

All of you, who says that Nokia phones are good phones, are just an old-fashioned fans!

YES, N8 packs a lot of good hardware, but NOKIA has forgot to improve the most important feature on their best high-end device, and that is the OS !

Their new symbian^3 OS is a pure crap, it's just one step further from Symbian S60, wich is also the biggest crap in the history of smart phones!
I was horrified totally to Symbian, when I spend more than 40 minutes to transfer .sis file, to my brothers e72, and locate it in the phone, as Nokia doesn't have file manager it was impossible. And at the and I had to transfer file to my phone and send it via bt to e72 so I could install that file. And yes I know that it would be a lot easier with Nokia PC Suite, but in that case my brother need to carry installation CD everywhere he goes!

Symbian OS is the biggest shame for an smartphone!

I don't like and buy NOKIA just because their super crap Symbian OS! If N8 would have an Android, than N8 certainly would be in my top five list!

I admire Nokia because they are trying to do their own things, why do they have to go for Android or any other third party OS just like everybody else?
They have the right and money to come up with their own OS, and I like that.

I don´t like to use what everybody uses, I like to be unique, and if you guys didn´t know Nokia is biggest phone company in the world and they have all the money to come up with the best phone, just like they have been doing just give it some time and by the way I´m a happy N8 owner.
