Nokia is so stubborn that i for one doubt completely about their goals...
They want to bet on Meego when Android is already so developed...Windows Phone is struggling to compete...
symbian 3 is not a failure, but for today standards is old fashioned and it doesnt offer you the same user friendliness that Android or iphone gives you....
Theres an old say "If you can´t beat them, join them"... Look at
Motorola where they end up when they made those experiences with Linux on their phones?? Ultimately they realised that Android was the right choice, and look at them now....

Atom was made for laptops/netbooks. Both have a higher battery capacity and hence it works better. Never mind the fact that Atom has way more power then the A8.
And as I stated earlier, wait for Intel's Sandy Bridge or Moorestown. Those are made for the tablet/smartphone market.

f... please nokia don't release tablet with that OS (which is meego for netbooks and not meego for tablets) cause is ugly! they should put that pre-alpha OS on youtube which is wayyyyyyyy better than everything

daniel, 03 Dec 2010the platform on the n900 is Meamo designed by nokiaYes your right.. it is designed by nokia, but mozilla was responsible for the web browsing, linux was used as a base for the formation of the OS, and nokia did the rest. This is exactly wat is happening with meego. Intel took thier moblin OS, and nokia took thier Maemo OS, they combined it (also keeping symbian in mind).. and now they're working with like 25 other companies to develop an OS that will be complient with multiple items (i.e. car infotainment, computer tablets, tv's, vending machines, videogame consoles, secure banking and payment via your phone)...
in the end, the credit goes to nokia because they are the ones producing the phones and making these alliances.

Also, the Atom was designed for netbooks, not tablets. Hence it not working out too great when put into a tablet. Sandy Bridge should be a lot better on tablets and I expect to see Sandy Bridge tablets released with MeeGo on them. Don't forget AMD in this picture either, their new Fusion Ontario and Zacate chips. Those are designed for the tablet market also, and AMD is now supporting MeeGo.

Atom powered smartphone? it's a crappy cpu on netbooks but on a phone it will probably pwn. lol!
