"So far, Samsung Electronics has worked with just two - Samsung SDI and ATL. While before the initial Galaxy Note7 recall Samsung believed only SDI-made batteries were faulty, the phones kept catching fire even after that, which means ATL's batteries weren't any better in fact."

This assumes the second fault is due to the batteries. The batteries may catch on fire but it's not proof the batteries are faulty. You may wonder why the batteries have been catching on fire if they're not faulty; the simple answer is that there are a million and one ways to make a lithium battery burst into flames. Manufacturing faults can explain simple shorts, but you can achieve the same effect by over-discharging, over-charging, etc.

I believe I've discovered why the phone's have been catching on fire. If my theories are correct, it is not a fault with the battery, it is a separate fault within the phone. I'm eager to discuss this with a Samsung technician, but unfortunately they're proving next to impossible to talk to.

It seems that for articles to be published on the internet, facts don't need to be checked; strong convictions are far more important, obviously.
