Android Beta 7.1 blocks Android pay on Nexus 6P with unlocked bootloader, not even rooted

We can understand why Google is now cracking down on Android Pay. As Google releases its Pixel devices, it doesn’t want people tinkering too much with an Android Pay enabled device. So the rules are simple: If your device is rooted, no Android Pay, if your device’s bootloader is unlocked, no Android Pay either, even if you haven’t modified the system at all.

Sort by:

Android already has too many scars on it because of its flawed security system. So another similar scar isnt going to hurt its reputation much.

    Oh please, 21 Oct 2016If those bloody manufacturers wouldn't cripple vital featur... moreI tried to root almost have of the phones I used, not one of it made me contented or comfortable, always good to have something that you paid for rather than exploiting it

      If those bloody manufacturers wouldn't cripple vital features (e.g. call recording) then we wouldn't have to root the damn things, would we?
