I have been praising Sharp's sleek Aquos Crystal and Xx line but here's one thing Sharp has yet to copy or "innovate" (if you can call it that for their marketing department) for their Aquos phones = GLOBAL release. It is like Sharp has been hiding their Aquos smartphone line under a rock and its marketing lacks some ingenuity. Get this: they could haul their big Aquos TVs off their shores but could not release nor sell their handheld devices, in the form of Aquos Crystal or Xx as examples, outside their homeland. Any genius market approach or methodology going on there? Crazy! Then again, I guess anyone could just silly slap me an argument that "their Aquos smartphones' exclusivity says they are doing fine internally, anyhow, so why bother release internationally, right?"

Great phone. Something new at last! To bad though that display is only 1080p, though I normally don't have problem with that resolution, on screen this size QHD would be great choice. The rest is just great!

Excellent value for the money.
The only real issue is the lack of Band 20 for European users.
I will personally buy it anyway since CDMA will work perfectly fine anyway since 4G is useless in Sweden.

Why release Concept drawings and claim that they are the first?

Fabulous design, however out of all the innovation the Mi Mix has a 1080p + screen resolution 6.4 " can't help thinking that a QHD display would of made the Phone the Phablet to beat. Also in the specs it says 83% body to screen not the 91% as described in article.

I personally would love a phone with no top bezel. Metal back, hardware(capacitive) buttons on the bottom and the rest of the front just covered with screen. I'll gladly trade away the front facing camera if I can get rid of the top bezel completely.

Another interesting concept after Sharp Aquos Crystal. Me like it. Good! Chinese companies are showing all the top dogs what is the game all about, because most of them lost the push to innovate, and just riding the wave of fanboyism sales. Good luck Xiaomi, great price by the way (if true).

If you go on youtube every concept phone is borderless. So actually making it happen is not a "WOW this is a design of the decade!" There have been attempts at almost bezeless displays. At the end of the day it is not practical. Putting the camera at the bottom of the screen is not practical. Who knows how the microphone and ear piece and the advance sensors will work in this case? You really think Apple/Samsung/Google never thought about this? Think for once.

Wh... moreI'm pretty sure they're referring to a proof of concept, to demonstrate that a phone made in this matter with these materials can be a feasible, working product. Calling it a concept means that it can be seen as a standalone outside the usual Mi/Redmi range with limited availability and higher price because the idea may or may not resonate with consumers.
