Apple leaks its upcoming MacBook Pro with OLED strip and Touch ID

25 October 2016
In a couple of days Apple is holding an event during which it will finally refresh the extremely long in the tooth MacBook Pro line of laptops. Details about the features of the new models have been leaking for months now, but today we get a confirmation for a few of them from the unlikeliest of sources: Apple itself.

It is time for apple to do a touch screen macbook Pro and show some proper stuff, Laptops life is coming to an end and Apple is still milking us slowly without giving us the end product that we seek. Not a smart move. then this C-USB cable crap and canceling USB-3 is not helping anyone. Instead they want us to keep on buying more cables and adapters. Not smart at all Mr. Cook. we need Steve Jobs back for few days to show you the path again.

MacBook used to have the best keyboard, but now it is unusable with almost no key-travel! I think Apple will continue making the user exoerience worse and worse, mote and more expensive extra dongles/adapters..., and soon completly remove the mechanical keys and replece them with oled touch keys with the same vibration engine as on iPhones!

I think it's critical to see how much key-travel this new keyboard has (since it looks similar to the Macbook). We already know those "OLED keys" will have zero travel... so if this is the trend and you actually use the keyboard to type for a living, you may want to wait and see how this plays-out.

They should make all the keys OLED ... or at least an option for Multi Language Notebooks.

Too bad they didn't implement the rumoured E-ink keyboard on this one.
Not that I have much interest in a higly expensive laptop (from any brand really).
But I would really love it, if E-ink keyboards was on mass market products.
Super nice for software that has a lot of key commands.
                          Nice if switching OS enviroment.
And finally a chance for smaller markets to start experimenting with keyboard layouts that would actually better suit the langugage.

In the image i think it's pretty clear that the Fingerprint scanner is not part of the touch sensitive OLED display, but rather they have tried to mask it by making it in similar color and placing it just next to the OLED area.
