If it weren't for Samsung...the idea of solid state batteries for cellphones wouldn't have surfaced. Something to be grateful for

So what if a couple of Galaxy Note 7s exploded? That’s a Note 7 problem, not a Note 8 problem and certainly not a Galaxy Note problem generally.

Leave Samsung in peace with your Apple fanatisms. And Samsung is not a small company like you said. It's the biggest conglomerate company of the world. In their totality the conglomerate surpasses Apple in profits, understood? They produce everything, you got it?

Samsung deserve the loss. In fact they are victim of their own policies. Imagine if they would have launched Note 7 with removable battery? Then this problem would not be in such a bad shape.
They wanted to make money from offering non-removable battery but end up paying Billion $ as a loss due to non removable battery.

wow 95-96% down is harsh... it's good they still have more options in s7/edge and A-J series (they're selling pretty well) and this means that next year they'll say we have a 1500% gain from last year in Q3 XD
i love my A5 (2016) so i hope Q4 can be a bit more manageable for the company ^_^

amazing...for a company so big...only one phone's problem brought down the profit so much...means actually samesung is such a small company that the only 2 phones that matters to samesung are galaxy and note series....if anyone is down means profit is down!...it was not the case if it stopped copying apple since days of S3!

Its really quite sad to hear that SAMSUNG has this bad run in with the Note 7. But at the very least the company take responsibility with these reported incidents. But we can't just immediately assume that its just with the phone. I've been using SAMSUNG phone since I could remember, not one of them ever explode. Mainly we also need to look at other possibilities that might contribute to these phone explosions.

Samsung is still on the process of getting the N7s, don't you think that their responsible even though there is no explosion of N7 right now?

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2016And supposedly quality phones explodes or burns. smh.Millions of note7 sold worldwide and still people using that phone. Just few phones burned, don't you think it might be something other than hardware?. Still Samsung recall the whole note7 back. I never was a fan boy to Samsung but I admire their courageous decision about note7. I will definitely buy a note 8 If they don't release their Tizen OS flagship phone by next year.

This was a one-off. I hate Samsung but it's childish to write off a company because of a mistake.

You tell me how is possible that no other incident with exploding Note 7's have occurred since the stopping of production? Before this there were like 1-2 a week, now in 1 month nothing.. And there are still plenty of Note 7's out there.
Obviously you are a hater, because you said Samsung smartphones, not Note 7 in particular.
I have an A5 2016 and is a great phone, and I can assure you it will not explode any time soon.
