13-inch MacBook Pro differences: More than just Touch Bar

28 October 2016
Yesterday, Apple announced the brand new MacBook Pro with the cool new Touch Bar, a strip of display above the keyboard that replaces the function key row with context specific functions that can be customized by users and developers.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2016cost-cutting under the hood, a non-techie user doesn't care... moreNice narrative, but DDR4 is cheaper than DDR3 for quite a while now.
Yes, it's more expensive (and worst performing) to use DDR3 than it is to use DDR4. -- Yet Dell pulled the exact same stunt on their latest XPS 13.

As for the "why", you'll have to either ask them or come-up with a better theory.

Is there really a big difference between 1866MHz and 2133MHz DDR3-RAM? I don't think so. The big CPU-difference is way more to question.
It's rather a shame that they are still using DDR3 in 2016.

btw: I thought Apple lowered their macbook-prices in the last years to make them more affordable and more attractive. Now they seem to be ridiculous expensive as in 2008 - Good Hardware, excellent Manufacture, horrible prices.
