Too all bagging Apple for not innovating. You could say they innovated with the 7 by bringing the world its current best display to mobiles (in the form of an LED display!) by fine tuning the colors and not skimping on the pixel layout.

Apple's game at the moment is not to innovate. They're back where they were mid 2000's, competing against other giants again. And in fareness, too much pressure to "innovate" and create something that blows everyone's socks off each year is unreasonable. Too much "innovation" can also alienate existing customers.. look at the new Macbook Pro's portgate, and iPhone 7's jackgate. People are pushing them to innovate and then they complain because Apple can foresee the future but people can't, aren't ready, or are simply happy with things staying as they are.

As the past has proven, innovation isn't always a good thing.

I don't think Sharp nor Apple know the definition of innovation anymore. XD

Curved displays are gimmicky and more bling than practicality. 5.5" is too big and the glass back just adds extra unneeded weight. Apple have really let themselves slip this past year. I knew it was going to happen, but I didn't expect to see them play "catchup" this soon. No doubt they'll go overboard like they did with the new macbook pro with the "emoji bar" and hike the price up by 50%.

5-5.1" flat OLED and a strong glossy plastic backing like the old 3gs days (possibly interchangable like the old nokia's) (keep the size managable and weight low). Nice specs? check! Nice feel in the hand? check! Now focus on improving the software and experience.

I haven't personally owned an iphone in years because each one seemed to be either too big, small, or weird in the hands (glass backed 4s and hard edged 5). I miss iOS but damn... too many compomises and sacrifices to pay for a software experience.. ain't worth it.

Get off your "high" horse Apple.

Not much of an inovation by itself, but their use by Apple will make it mainstream as never before.

ofcourse they will. and also they will cal it an innovation. despite of it being in the market since nokia n8 or may b before that.

They consider using oled screens as an innovation? They've been in the market for so long, but will only become an innovation after apple uses these screens in their phones? Iphone 7s will probably have the same screen as always and iphone 7s plus will have an oled one. That's how it had always been with iphone upgrades and I expect the same this year.
