Carol, 04 Nov 2016I am pretty sure you ain't gonna challenge a windows phone ... moreIt seems that either you DON'T know how to use Android phone or you have NOT used a latest Android OS perfectly. Whatever you have mentioned regarding memory fragmentation issues were existing prior to 6.0 (Marshmallow) but post 6.0, i.e. in Marshmallow and Nougat it has been developed a lot. And believe me, the number of applications running in background does matters in performance of a low cost phone and user need to be more conscious about the priority of the apps and the internal memory left because the apps in PlayStore is like Pearls in an Ocean. Now speaking about your Windows Phone, in Windows 8.1 the notification panel(slider from top) has been copied from Android, the Bluetooth feature in Win 7.5 Mango (only Windows to Windows) was a copy of iPhone but did not work out and therefore allowed to all mobiles in its further versions and in Windows 10, owners themselves reporting that they are facing several crashes in OS as well as in Edge browser and they have regarded it as most UNSTABLE OS (Refer: http://www.gsmarena.com/newscomm-21488.php)
So, conclusion is Android is turning smarter version by version whereas WP is turning........

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2016You can't hack Windows phones, as all apps run in sandboxed... moreYour comment sounds like an amateur...

Do you know Windows Desktop OS is having the most number of Viruses, and most of the hacking is being done in comparison to Linux and MacOS and the main reason is it is being used widely and have the maximum chances of exploitation WHEREAS Windows Phone OS is hardly being used by developers/users and therefore less chances of exploitation but don't expect that it is hard to hack a Windows Phone in fact no one is interesting to do that in that shit...

SJM32, 05 Nov 2016I agree that the mobile market owes a lot to Nokia & Sy... moreWell, it depends on which side you look at the matter. First iphone, did not even had apps. So a store is out of the question. We talking about 2007-2008 here. When i was installing apps like crazy in my n70, from stores or developers markets. A time, when i could remote control my tv with and multitask like we can't still see in the new platforms. Anway, when apple finally realized apps are important for a smartphone to be able to be called a smartphone, they invented a way to make those apps, a big source of money and a prison for their developers. And of course, minding the fact that before apple, smartphone market was a niche one, quite a few knew what apps, and smartphones are, Therefor, they taught that making apps, their innovation would be a success. And it was, they have a great history on stealing others ideas and call them their own. Yeah, i can say, apple actually killed developers freedom with their store "innovation". Also killed quality music with their sub-par hard coded music files that costs more then a single on a CD. So, as i said, depends on how you look at the matter.

              It's very real

"Tim Long estimates that Apple accounted for 103.6% of smartphone industry operating profits in the third quarter,” Investor’s Business Daily reports.”Its share is over 100% because other vendors lost money in the business, resulting in Apple having more smartphone profit than the industry netted overall"

First App Store for one. Music on the go with the iPods & using the same tech in a phone. The iTunes store in general. Love it or hate it, iTunes has revolutionised the music industry & made iTunes even better with the mobile side of it.

AnonD-573944, 04 Nov 2016obviously Apple is next Nokia ,high price with poor innovationPoor innovation? The fact that you now hold a smartphone is thanks to nokia. The fact that you are doing gsm calls, is cause if nokia. The fact that you have hypersensitive touchscreen, deep black and curved glasses, is thanks to nokia. The fact that today, smartphone oem's actually build better cameras is thanks to Nokia, wireless charging thanks to nokia. Usb type c, first use in a nokia product. Active noise cancelation, nokia, smartphone ois: Nokia. Wanna hear more? Guess not. So don't compare crapple to nokia. Infact, don't compare anything that's out their right now, with Nokia. They are a copy of what once Nokia was. And it can be seen that nobody innovates since Nokia stoped doing it. So tell me again, what?

Last time i checked, apple does products everybody "dig" just cause they are expensive and have an apple as a logo. So, nope, apple is not niche. Expensive does bot mean niche. Lumia 1020 is more niche then any product apple ever made. Lumia 950 series, are the same;).

And that's why people choose iOS or Windows over Android:

Just like people who want quality will gladly pay $300 to someone with 10 years of experience to do an important task properly, in the shortest amount of time, and without having to fear that they will mess something up and will have to start all over again.

Just like I wouldn't pay $50 to someone who just started working in the field. Someone that can (and will) complete that task, but will take much longer to do so, and there's always a chance that they will mess something up and have to start the task again, thus making everything totally inefficient.
