AnonD-1825, 03 Nov 2016Its actually android companies who are duying, didn't you r... moreFlawed logic...
Market share is not how many units you make, is how many units you sell...
The more you sell the more market share you have.
So read this in this way... Out of 100 users 87 use Android and 13 use Apple.
The underlying explanation is basic economics...People tend to make rational decisions:
If you can pay a person to do a task, let's say 50 dollars, why would you pay another person 300 hundred to do the same task.
So if you can get a really good phone that does all that an iPhone does for half the price then why pay the premium?
Some will do it for status, fandom or just to fit in...but none of those pay you bills at the end of the month. And this is more true in more budget wise countries, reason why the iPhone is underperforming outside the USA.

Apple is a niche market in terms of mobile phones. It has a cult following at best from a few die hard fans. Android dominates the market for the simple reason being that it is compatible with almost everything out there. There are only two major brands that, I know of, that don't have android (or some variation of it) on their devices. Both Microsoft and Apple will never hold the same market share unless they make some major innovations to the operating systems.

And yeah, Windows phones' market share is very small - just like supercars have a much lower market share than budget cars.

When Apple release 15 iPhones in 9 years & Samsung release 23 since the S7 its not really surprising that the market share is so vast.

By the way, this is not a comment to back up for Apple, this is just me & my opinion & thinking that if Apple want to gain a little back in terms of market share then they need to tap into more markets.

But, i give you that. You are one user that actually knows a bit about android. But let's go back to what i've said. A phone should work from start. No compromises just to make it work better. Jailbreack and custom injections. You never know what you actually inject into your device. Yeah, seems super, everybody sais is good. But are their any that knows coding, that really talk about this custom stuff? Now i am not saying that all custome rom's have strange behaviour, or control your date, but since is free, i don't trust them, nothing is free;).No blootware, bla bla bla, is not enoigh Android is a money making drill machine, and people put all kinds of s*t on it, the gate to the info eaters is wide opened. I rather have my info into one company then in the hands of 3 million people;) Anyway, let's not enter the conspiracy world. The stuck android will not fix the fragmented part of the OS: the engine, it does not matter the interface as long as the engine cripples. And this is what the engine does no matter what interface you use;). You will always need to do a format every now and then if you are a heavy user;). And you can't say is not true, you are talking with an all systems user here;). P..s. 2 gb left for play on an android phone is quite, quite few.

For a while i tought i'm left alone. Anyway, i still think symbian is better then them all. Proper multi tasking. The only system that actually has real multitasking. Yeah, the one you find on a desktop. That is called multitasking. Not this subpar experience we have from the "new" systems. Sadly, was always build with low hardware, and nokia faild going with windows. Meego and symbian working in as a single enviroment (symbian for middle to low end device, meego for high end, their real plan for the future) would have killed Android by now. If you ever tested the meego, you will understand why selfish users love that system so much. It is a way better version of android, more secure and reliable and is based on the same core, LINUX. Anyway, yeah, at this point, the better choice is windows. It has it's bugs and problems to. But no where near as many as android. And is not locked down like ios. I mean. Just the use of itunes is already a turn off. Not to say the so many other crapp apple does to lock their customers into their jail ecosystem...

Apple isn't going anywhere from the market, they are doing very well, but they cant beat 50 different android OEMs. And they don't need to do that.

Here is the exact quote from some source:

Apple's fiscal Q1 2016 call last night, was no different, Cook said:

We were blown away by the level of Android switchers that we had last quarter. It was the highest ever by far. And so we see that as a huge opportunity.
