When I see the picture, my first impression is nowhere about 'Porsche designed'. It's more like a Samsung and HTC hybrid chimera thing.

We,what is race car about it ?
It's a flat 6 inch oblong with a glass front,rounded corners and a back and its black !!
By what stretch of anyone's imagination is that like a race car,for petes sake boys,it's just another dull,boring mobile media eater,come com's device..
It do t do 200mph+,it corners dealt badly,I hate to think what happens if it hits crash barriers at better than 50mph,and as for the drivers position,it's very squashed..
In fact the headline should read,
It's a phone and totally unlike any race car...

Honestly a big shame on Huawei. Bring out your top phone for the year and its in a phone which its price is out of reach for 90% of consumers, I mean look at Xiaomi Mi Mix overall same performance and specs and a huge screen and its priced at $1050AUD. Should of only release the Porsche Design version without the Porsche Design logo price should be $1249AUD not $2019AUD and with a much better UI redesign and we have a big hit against the big two eg. Samsung and Apple. Really disappointed they could of really elevated there brand with this if they only did it right and not trying to double dip.

This phone has amazing specs at an amazing price
Very similar to my black S7 Edge. I'd take expandable storage over 256GB (AND the €500 cheaper price tag!!)
I wonder if it's water proof??
Even if it's not - it's undeniably a beautiful, well spec'd phone.
You pay for what you get in this world people!!

Car branded phones or products in general are such funny bunch. Porsche designe dmobile phone! When was the last time anyone has seen Samsung designed Porsche? Or Huawei designed Ferrari? Yeah, it makes about the same amount of sense...

Huawei is way more premium than LG, HTC and Sony.Well not really at all, they just pushed mid-range hardware for insane prices and people bought it because Superman showed off the Leica branding.. This Mate 9 is their first real premium device and look at the price! The P9 camera wasn't even that good except it really excelled in night photos.
I mean their UI is just ripped from Xiaomi's MIUI..
But then again Apple have been pushing rubbish for the last 5 years and millions of people mindlessly pay for it.. (with the exception of this years SoC, which is good for what?)

It's an awkward combination. Porsche should've collaborated with some other smartphone maker, some European brand would've been much better. Imagine if it was Nokia and Porsche Design. It would be the one comeback phone of the century. Also, much more people would come forward to buy it. Well, Nokia itself is such a legendary brand that needs no collaboration to sell their phones. The name is enough.

Oh okay. The real Mate 9 is this one, but its so friggin damn pricy and is pretty much a wanna be S7 Edge/Note 7 remnants .-.? Well, sure it does look great and must be so, but 1400€? Thats 100€ more than what people initially wanted and its even harder to get, since "Porsche Design" stores is something ive never even heard of lol. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 256GB can be bought for 800€ for example right now o-O, and it has better materials, just not branding.
