In terms of hardware they are quite similar and a fraction of the price and both have water resistance to varying degrees which this appears not to. In terms of hardware the X3 is similar at a fraction of the cost.

They put Porsche and Leica brand there so, that pretty much justify the pricing. Apart that, the specs of the phone itself is at super flagship level. You still think the price is ridiculous? I would think Huawei is ridiculous if they sell this for $700 only. What would that make of other brand if they able to make device like this too cheap? Huawei would make other brand look stupid if they do that. Stop complaining. You cant even afford to buy this phone.

I can see this being an overpriced concept phone that few people will actually buy while other companies will be doing similar specs very soon for for less money.

A lot of money goes to Porsche and not special components that justify them. Not worth the price !

And the cam will be blazing good , because its ancestor has a dual 12 mp and was among the best , so now this has 20 with 2x zoom, has this beautiful screen with imrpoved qhd quality , whereas the previous p9 plus has an hd and was beautiful enough to top the market some places , so improved performance on the ancestor improved cam improved screen improved fingerprint, in everything almost , while the ancestor ( p9 plus ) was already one of the best, so this will be absolutely the best

Well I'm okay if the people with too much money spend it to "support" other companies, so that they can afford better development and make improvements for other devices, as long as they keep these inadequate prices out from the general consumer market.
Although probably the real beneficiary is the "Porsche Design", not the Huawei. Although they probably contributed the most to this project.

Okay, well done to Huawei. Both phones/phablets are really promising, but the price of the PD variant i really don't know what to call it? But lets say that it doesn't make sense

too much money for huawei thing, 250 dollars would be fair enough, all huawei devices I have seen, look terrible after a few weeks uf use, very cheap indeed
