Lenovo is a mess with it's 3 brands and various versions of software (CM, Stock Android, Lenovo skin). As a brand, you gotta be consistent, Lenovo simply isn't. The support and quality of Moto and Lenovo devices has dropped off sharply in the last few years. They don't stand up well to rough use and the software support is somewhat mediocre. They can't beat Oppo/Vivo/Xiaomi like this, because those phones come with complete and consistent software experiences.
I do not know why people don't understand that you need to deliver consistent updates, and good hardware at a great price to do well in this market. User experience matters.....with Lenovo the experience isn't that good right now.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2016If this claim is for Lenovo to strictly followed, I'm guess... moreBut the claim is part wrong. Yes they have abandoned their own branded phones now it seems but the replacement is both ZUK and Moto phones. Certainly not just Moto.
If you click on "Mobile Phones" on Lenovo China webpage they take you to www.zuk.com

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2016If this claim is for Lenovo to strictly followed, I'm guess... moreQuestion is will it be just as cheap or more expensive because of the branding?

I thought that the Moto name itself can't get worse after seeing the new G/E series...i was wrong :(
Looking forward to next year...Hopefully they can prove that they can have a good designed device with the same, reasonable price, good quality and a well placed/looking fingerprint button.

Well, i am not agreed with this decision because in some parts of the world Lenovo in smartphones doing pretty well and in some regions moto .. Instead, of making them one they should come with some any other strategy
and its ok if you dont get profit in one quarter because these days there are so many competitors that even for the company like sony, lg and samsung etc. profit making is pain in the a**.. You just have to be patience in the smartphone industry

More like the Moto brand is going to be devalued to be just another Chinese phone.
Just look at the Moto M. It looks like any other Chinese phones, without any of "Moto-ness" in it.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2016If this claim is for Lenovo to strictly followed, I'm guess... moreThen Moto Z owners are screwed because the mods will be cancelled. Zuk brand should be renamed.

Unfortunately, that means there will be a sea of Moto branded phones in the market now. HOPEFULLY, Lenovo makes few Moto phones every year instead of more than 20 variations.

AnonD-529160, 09 Nov 2016Lenovo dead... who next??? They don't die, as Moto has already been under their feet they simply just focusing on the Moto brand because they made a wrong move with both Lenovo brand and Moto had a canibalism in the same segment. Let's said Lenovo got a phone ranging from low end to high end like the Vibe K5, K4, and to the likes of Vibe Z series and Moto on the other hand also got stuffs ranging from low to high too like the E series and to Z. So that won't work and if now they focusing on Moto alone, make pray they would distributed the phone to all the Lenovo distributor across the world
