I'm not surprised that they losing money on the Moto brand. Do you know how hard it is to get a Moto phone in Africa? In South Africa the only way to get a Moto phone is through Orange(and their service is crap). So Lenovo has only itself to blame for the loses.

Never again. You won't bring Nougat to my less than a year old Moto G3.

AnonD-442781, 09 Nov 2016Wonder if this means no successor to the z2.If this claim is for Lenovo to strictly followed, I'm guessing ZUK- or Vibe-branded Z lines are stomped dead. But hey, Moto also has a Z line of its own and it is on its first generation and if a successor is to follow, we might see another de javu Z2 from Lenovo again but this time with the Moto branding of course

In future. Yes. Its not a new news. How long it will take?
Moto Only have a brand presence in USA and India.
But except usa, lenovo phones are selling everywhere. They are no2 in Russia, india, brazil etc.
              .
If they want to rebrand to Moto, they should first make moto popular in everywhere.
              .
So, 'in future' won't happen in near future. May take upto 4 or 5 years for complete rebranding. And the company is not sure its possible!
              .
Phab is selling under pc and tablet division. So no change for phab.

Lenovo/Moto: posted loss for last quarter.
                LG: loss
                htc: loss
Samsung: posted less profits and forecasted loss in this quarter.
Sony: posted profit for last quarter.
                Huawei: posted greater profits.
And then, after a couple of miles, there is Apple, earning billions of dolllars every quarter in profit. Their profits are literally inelastic.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2016The death of Lenovo branded smartphone. Thank goodness they... moreYeah I agree with you! Lenovo must focus on Motorola Moto brands cause Moto series has unique feels, Pure Android and better quality than Lenovo itsself. And Motorola on going to focusing Indonesia market with Moto E3 Power.

I guess Moto M is first of the device as a part of the decision.
Design is nowhere close to Moto. It is Lenovo team work branded as Moto.

Now can we finally Moto products being sold on Lenovo's shelves in their physical Lenovo retail stores? I have been waiting for this since the acquisition. Microsoft, although has not fully bought Nokia as a whole, still managed to divert their MS-branded Lumia products in old Nokia shops they didn't even bother to renovate as MS shops (maybe to cut cost), and of course I noticed the staff were also the same, in was just their shirts that has been changed. But well, I'm speaking in behalf of my local market. I don't know how MS or Lenovo handled the merge in other markets

Brilliant, just make sure available on every where with removeable battery. Quality is the best. innovation is main selling point so lenovo should increase R&D budget
