Narcolepsy, 21 Dec 2010I loaded the unoffical version bada 1.2 on to my fone 3 mon... moreuhm... Im no fanboy or hater (I own a Desire HD which is cheaper here in SA on an MTN contract than the original Desire) and the last time I checked, the only hardware advantages the Wave has over the N8 are the Hummingbird 1Ghz CPU, Super AMOLED display(not to everyone's taste, some of us want te see REAL colours), and the 512MB RAM(which doesnt count for much as the N8 can utalize VRAM). That it! So wat other hardware does the Wave have that the N8 can "only ever dream of"? Coz therez plenty that the N8 has that the Wave (and me on my beloved HTC) can only ever dream of(everybody wants that USB OTG whether they admit it or nt, that 12Mpx snapper that messes wit PnS digital cameras, class 33 GPRS n EDGE(could use fast GPRS as leaving my 3G+ on drains battery like crazy), louder speaker, etc. So Im curious

Hey guy's, i bought the samsung wave when it first came out and it was very good a few memory issues but a month or two in they released a firmware update and that was sorted (now on 1.02) and waiting for version 1.2 which was ment to be released this month but has been delayed untill next month. This doesnt make sense to me as it was leaked 2 months ago and works fine but i guess their perfeting it or something, maybe getting ther servers ready?
anyway about bada i think it is one of the most complete os i've ever seen, everything is there and intuitive, ok it lacks apps such as google maps and skype but this should both be added soon and as the os grow's which it will i expect lots more apps to get into the app store. And for samsung to be releasing version 2 about 1 year after releasing version 1 shows they really want this to work,
lets just hope samsung deliver what they say cos if they do this is one to watch out for guy

sup bodies, I'm using bada from the first day and I wanna say its the best OS i ever used and if they add these things to bada, it will be the fantasy.
i used android and of course IOS.
IOS is totally crap :no data transfer , anything is too depended to Itune and ...
but android has good future.
next year the challenge is between Android and Bada.
by the facts Google decided to be a good partner with Samsung , So Next year will be the SAMSUNG year.
Yuo'll see

I loaded the unoffical version bada 1.2 on to my fone 3 months ago and it has been working like a charm. You can find this in any forum on the net with step by step instructions. As for 2.0, it will be for the original wave as well and if for some unknown reason it isn't you will be able to get it through the forums anyway.
Nokia and symbian is better than Samsung and bada, haha, this makes me laugh. bada is so fast, bug free, and the hardware is something nokia could only dream about putting into a phone, and then there is the price of the wave 50% cheaper than the nokia n8 (and twice as good) and 2/3 cheaper than the iphone. enough said.

I'm breaking my silence. :-)
bada 1.2 is not even released yet, said it will be out October, came November, and December is almost through, and there goes bada 2.0
It's just all talk. Something for people to talk about. One thing Samsung is not really good at, is after-sales customer support. They s*ck big time.

[deleted post]dude where are you coming from
bada was out for a while and it's only been talked about cause it's samsung's FIRST SMARTPHONE running it's OWN OS
so they just did something that nokia has been doing for 2 and a half dacades LOL
revoloution on samsung's part
but still need alot of evolving
same with iOS
android is only evolving at at fast rate cause it has it's legs open to general public
which means everyone and anyone can take a go at it and sell their own units
google is doing nothing but producing software
i wanna see google actually do the same as what nokia is doing
but that will take decades

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2010There are 6 BADA phones and they can't even sell 1 million ... moreWhat are you talking about? The Samsung Wave S8500 has sold 5 million handsets alone.

I was in search for a new phone a little while ago and s8500 Wave got my attention. Amazing hardware and specs for the price (it was before C6-01) but didn't like the fact i had only 3 shortcuts at the main screen. I mean my poor old 6500slide had 6 of them!
I believe then that Samsung will be updating this phone, because it has a hardware than can take it. It will improve the user experience - which is a little desappointing for the specs, and offer the feature that the hardware can deliver.
I also think that Samsung will have some extra points of exclusivity, because having the same UI with 100 other phones takes away some of the feel-good factor of a new phone.
