Google Nexus One getting Gingerbread in a few weeks

21 December, 2010
It should come as no surprise that the Google Nexus One will be updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread - it's one of the advantages of getting a Google-branded phone. We didn't know when to expect the update though...

HTC sees the Nexus 1 as a fail to them, and they push the Desire more to consumers. I've seen this happen a few times, especially in carrier stores. You should have done some researching yourself though. Anyone on this website would have told you that the Nexus devices always get the updates first.

Using MicroMod's GB rom on my N1, I must say that I'm very very impressed by the battery life. At the end of a day (~1h of music, 10m talk time, ~20 SMSes, 30m of internet over Wifi) I had over 50% left. Much much better than Froyo

The Nexus One should have been updated the day Gingerbread came out

Google you are evil, pushing the Nexus S with promises of direct updates, is that not what you said about Nexus One?

The Nexus One was and still is the Greatest Android phone ever made, the only Android phone worth getting
