Most of the companies including- samsung ,lg ,motorola & sony ericsson have failed in keeping their phones up to date with latest version of android & their software updates r very buggy.
Only company doing great is htc.

Seriously Milestone will be my last Motorola phone. If you don't want/ have the capability to update your phone, unlock the bootloader and let others do the job! 2.3 has arrived and we are still stuck with the 2.1 and Droid had 2.2 months ago!!!!~

I gave Motorola a chance and bought this phone but it turned out to be a failure! can't stand Eclair as I don't have memory to save apps. been waiting for that update and reading this made me to decide on selling the phone. Goodbye yet again Motorola! Going back to Samsung.

I would be ok with this if I didn't know that there is no real reason for the delay, other than Motorola Europe being a bunch of lazy ****. If the droid has 2.2 why on earth can't the milestone?

was really thinking about buying the Defy but this kind of treatment to customers/potential customers i think ill return the two fingered salute to motorola and tell them where they can go stick their phones ...after all they are other companies in the same business willing to offer a much better service

How about that!!
I thought lets wait for the official one, a couple of days & my milestone will be froyo why to risk with Cyanogen or G.O.T!!
Gingerbread is already launched Motorola!!
I'm making this the last objective of this year, my Milestone to be rooted & use CM

I bought a Milestone SIM free and new with no carrier/network lock.
Although I'm happy with the phone I know it could be a lot better, Motorola's support is unacceptable to me especially with the locked bootloader. Can't see myself buying Moto again.
Anything other than one of the Nexus range isn't worth it.

Why am I not surprised about this! This would never happen with any of the Verizon phones. Its really embarrassing that a company cant meet it deadlines. But then again at least they smarted up a bit and didnt waited until the last day to delay it.

I don't think that the author of this article can say "Motorola is being lazy". For all the author knows the company could have only one engineer working frantically on the update. That said it does seem that Motorola need to divert more resources towards software updates however they are probably focusing their efforts on tablet software development. Don't forget that this is a company that was on the brink of collapse not so long ago so they won't have infinite resources. Anyway none of this affects me as I'm a HTC Desire owner :)

Please look at GSMarena review:
"The Nokia N8 seems capable of sustaining balance. In one particular area, it’s the unquestioned winner."
N8 is the best phone ever and i dont think it has any problems at all.

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2010Don't blame just Motorola. Samsung still is lagging on the ... moreWell said. It's almost like these manufacturers are developing a repetition for now providing support for their products. It's mostly because they want the consumers to keep buying their newer products. That's all it's about these days. Buy smart. Learn how to root your phones and you won't have to wait for updates.

totally agree with GSMarena, motorola company is useless, Nokia is always the leading one no matter one
