          I think this should be an excellent move. Moving manufacturing process in the great US itself should make the iPhones' quality to significantly go up, and when its already very high you can only realise what would happen if its made in USA. I used one of them Made in USA phone, the original Moto X, it was absolutely mind blowing for quality, only with few problems like white colour turning into yellow-ish, a really classy display where vertical lines were present and the camera was top notch too.

          Really looking forward to this.

                      it would drive up the price of the iPhone, and/or decrease the amount of profit per device.

                      loool it is happening anyway, iphones are garbage phones that coast 3x to much. and apple has enough money for everything, they dont need so much revenues. if they would make the prices lower, they would earn more money = people would buy more phones...
