Say, you want a particular saved message, you're lucky if you can find it quickly. You'll be opening your messages one by one looking for it. It's counter-productive. A waste of time.

phones fan, 28 Dec 2010just copy your messages to the memory card and you will get... moreI had Sony Ericsson C901 before. Text message capacity is unlimited. And you can view ALL your messages in conversation mode. C901 is a feature phone, why can't a smartphone do that?

Anyone of you got any complaints about the 1,300 messages capacity on S8500? It's just pathetic. Hope Samsung and bada 1.2 could fix this. I'm not a heavy texter, and I consider all my text messages important. It's a pity I have to spend some time (scrolling, scrolling, scrolling) trying to find messages worth deleting. And I've deleted some important messages by mistake. What's the use of a "threaded messages" when some part of the conversation has to be deleted just to allow new messsages to be received? This 'feature' (if you can call that) is not well thought-off. Be consistent Samsung.
What's with the messages cap, anyway?

Yeah, got a little carried away there. It's great that the update is coming soon, I can't wait for it as it would bring new levels of awesomeness for an already awesome phone.
As for the comment below, I forgot one thing:
If nokia prices 600 euros for a 600MHz CPU and a crappy battery, what would it price for a dual-cpu with 1GHz for each core?

BADA is once again set to rock with 1.2 update....
                    NO symbian
                    NO ios
                    NO android

                    they cannot beat BADA...
look at the response from symbian,, as if running win7 ultimate on a 8086 processor
OK.. accept ios is good,, but what about all those restrictions....
android is best as of now... but what do u say about the trojans n virus in the OPEN MARKET with no one to control it

                    BADA is SECURE, RESPONSIVE, SMOOTH
but, few things has to be improved though.. like the browser , update to the latest version of flash, better memory management
                    and UPDATES n apps

                    ALL the BEST for WAVERS......

Skype is going to do some big announcements during CES. I really doubt they will include Bada in the supported platforms. Hopefully Bada 1.2 removes the restrictions on VOIP.

There are two things that would make me buy an s8500. Technical specs and the quality of the materials used on it. Bada i don't like that much. Either it is on par with Android or Symbian. Close to Android but not there yet. At least according to my taste.

I hope Bada 1.2 corrects the most annoying thing ever in a phone: THE BATTERY WARNING SOUND IS ALWAYS ON, EVEN WHEN YOU PUT THE PHONE IN SILENT MODE. SO IRRITATING WHEN YOUR SLEEPING, IN A MEETING, ETC.
And we really need some good apps on samsungapps. Fix this and i'll have the perfect phone!!! Ps: fix palringo aswell!

bada is overall a good software... but the lack of apps and customization option is irritating... i want to be able to use it to its full capacity.... i'm waiting for 2.0 (i.e. if we get that for s8500)...
hardware wise there is no 2 thoughts that the original wave is one of the best phones ever made... the smooth finishing, metal body feels great, amoled screen is the best (i have not seen retina).. video playback, music playback quality is awesome, battery life could have been better, overall stability is good (except for some memory management issues, which may be fixed with 1.2).. .But the main problem is appppppppppppppssss,, right now there are very few useful and interesting apps.. samsung have to work very hard if they are to compete with android and ios...
