I'd just like to say that I called it, and am calling it: 3D stereoscopic imaging, with support for output to 3D displays, is going to be the next "cool feature" that we see on our mobile convergence devices (they're hardly ever just phones anymore!)

many people are attacking the unwothiness of quad-core mobile CPUs, but u all forget that this is all in our favour, as by the end of the year dual-core mobiles will go down in price and single-core (like sgs) will become dirt-cheap! and a or full-HD i am sur that we'll see HD screens by the end of the year (especially on tablet) but it's mostly to connect through HDMI to your full-HD tv,, i see quadr-cores mainly for tablets and i am sure their bigger batteries can handle them as a 1500mAh sgs or iphoe4 batterries could handle a 1ghz cpu with 11 hours HD video playback,,

Look at Intel, each time they release a new CPU, they make sure that it consume less power than their last products....
benefits from these:
- battery drain lesser
- less heat is produced, etc....
Although I admire how powerful the CPU mobiles had become, they never seem to post their energy consumption....

10 years ago a full OS like Windows or Linux runs smoothly on 500 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM. Now we have better hardware in smartphone but it runs much less flexible OS.

When will we have USB3 support in cellphones?
This processor is meant for future use - so why foesn't it support USB3?! At this rate, thia feature would take ages to arrive!

Its quite simple really. People buy with power (as in processing power) in mind these days, whether it is a PC, laptop, tablet, or mobile. Having dual and quad cores, could be quite an interesting step for TRUE multi-tasking. At the moment, people use quite a few important (depending on your point of view) applications, and having them run concurrently is the next major hurdle. It really comes down to the OS on how it handles concurrent applications.

Come on people stop attacking these guys, they just build processors and they are doing a great job, they don´t sell OSes or batteries, that´s someone else responsability. And with the new versions of android u will see the difference between 1 and 2 processors in any device, remember that 2 processors @1ghz each doesn´t mean a 2ghz processor but 1ghz for 1 app and 1ghz for another, that´s the beauty of it.

PC market is advancing like the light of a thunder that mobiles and consoles can't and will never catch their desktop counterparts, today you can fully utilize a hexa-core CPU when using some professional applications like media encoding and graphics
by the time mobiles migrate to quad-core, octa-core will be released for desktops, I know about the architectural differences but we must not forget another factor the video cards offered by nvidia and ATI which theoretically holds a power of hundreds of processors and if used correctly by developers they would have super-computer PCs.

This has starting to get ridiculous. I mean it's cool getting a dual and quad core cpu on a mobile device, but even in the PC's world, most apps don't use both cores or even the 4 cores to do their processing, I bet the same thing is gonna happen in these CPUs...
Instead of incrementing speed and # of cores, the mobile brands and programmers should start focusing on their OS and apps and start reducing their power consumption....
What about the battery consumption on these new processors??? I bet it has increased or stayed the same...
When the next iPhone, Samsung or HTC smartphones comes out, they will only last 2 hours at standby and 2 minutes with a heavy use... xD
