I love the interface of Windows phones. It is like from a science fiction movie. But there are still problems in the OS. I have a Lumia 525.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2016A Lumia by any other name is still a Lumia. Enjoy your 0... moreW10M is a much much better OS than Android (live tiles, clutter-free UI, glance screen, double tap to wake immediately come to my mind). Android UI is dumb.

And as far app gap is concerned, I have all useful apps including banking apps (though there aren't zillion alternatives), and I do not need a million varieties of fart simulators.

No a smart phone is a phone that can run desktop grade and quality software (or at least nearing that). Your personal computer in your pocket, which very obviously Windows phones ain't. Many/most people with androids/iPhones I know have actually replaced their PC usage with their phone usage. Most of anything they used to do is now doable (often faster) via their phones.

Obviously a Windows phone ain't that, it's the equivalent of a dumb phone (you still need your pc/laptop/mac for a lot of the things). Not because it lacks the capacity but merely because it is so embarrasingly low on apps/functionality that you have to use other devices way too often. At this point only blind fanboys buy Lumias (by any other name). Thankfully it's a strong minority, soon Windows phone will go bye bye and it will be a fine day...

The mere fact of being able to run X86 applications will make this phone a success. Just make the hardware powerful enough.

Running full blown x86 desktop apps in Continuum mode? Microsoft you shall have my money if you can pull this off. I finally have a reason to use something other than boring Android for once.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2016OK I'll bookmark photoshop touch ... oh wait I can't, like... moreAdobe Photoshop is available on windows phone. But that's not what makes a phone, smart phone. It's ability to connect to internet and web browsing, that is a smartphone.

There is no denying the fact that windows phone market share is very low. Who cares. That is Microsoft's problem.

Reason why I am still interested in windows phones is because Microsoft is making most interesting software's and hardware in recent years. I expect something awesome with surface phone too. Running desktop class Windows on mobile is good enough but I know MS will try to bring more than that.

What is android 7 doing? Make split screens like on windows. I don't even know what ios is upto but probably nothing as exciting as surface phone.

My last android phone was htc m8 and last iPhone was 5s. IPhone 7 have some new interesting features but android is same old android with moat fixes under the hood only. Now surface phone is going to bring whole windows OS on phone.

Hehe, you Microsoft fans are so funny. You're like the 0.5% of the mobile world yet I see you everywhere in gsmArena. I hope at least they give you the phones for free, because I can't think any other reason to own a Windows phone. I have Bricks that are smarter than Windows "smart"phones.

BTW, surface phone is something on the next level. You will find many people trying to emulate or run Windows on their phone. This phone can do that without doing anything and runs a normal speed.
