Motorola won't be launching new smartwatches in near future

02 December 2016
At-least not for the launch of Android Wear 2.0, which is coming sometime early next year.

Only beautiful, slim, functional arm-bands (not only fitness trackers, though) make some sense in the future. With simple displays battery-efficient, and bendable batteries. But Wall Street are not interested there, because of the price.
If we are talking about smartwatch anyhow, the only one OEM that made it right is Samsung, and developing and innovating.
Apple has nothing there, but counting on colors and such.
The only thing that Apple have is fateful ifans, holding few apple-stocks, to care and fight about. LOL

"We don't "see enough pull in the market"

Well duh. Motorola only released the Moto watch in very few markets, and even when they reached other countries, they only do discounts in western markets like US (not sure about European countries). So it's OBVIOUS that they don't see enough pull, since they were not pushing it to begin with.

Moto had something going with the 2nd gen. The Moto360 remains my favorite Android watch.

Its because Samsung and Apple make superior smartwatches and no one really wants anything else.

Samsung watches are too good, there's no need for moto watches in the market.

                      -- Check out eBay.in or eBay.com. I myself bought Apple TV 4 off Amazon.in.

-- Phones can only "consume" content, that's thier strength ofcourse. They can "create" content only in a very limited fashion. So no true PC replacement at least for next 5-8 years.

None of the smart components are available in india and in india TV's are super costly at least 2 to 2.5 times the pricing in US. Thats why there is a need for good smart TV in budget segment.
                        2. Smartphone's are doing way better job of replacing PC's.
                        3. My point is that there is a lot companies can do to modernise TV's but may be due to low profitability growth has been slow.

& then in the far future moto won't release any phones thus lenovo killing Motorola

I remember the beginning of the year, every tech site said the "big thing" of 2016 will be smartwatches, premium mid range phones and VR. None of them were successful and smartwatch sales even slowed down after the Big Bang of the Apple Watch was out. I don't think we will see a revolution like the first iPhone in the next years and that also isn't bad. I mean we still have so many issues with today's phones like battery life, durability, software updates and only when we overcame those, we will be ready for something new

                                - one more device to charge that barely lasts a day on a charge
                                - very thick, should be 2x thinner

                                - crazy overpriced. Should be 100 EUR max

Bummer, I was actually expecting the new gen 360 within Q1 2017, I got 2nd gen myself and it is really useful for me, at least they should give an OTA update to Android Wear 2 for all 360's.
