Im just on my way back from CES, and I got to play with the Arc. It is the e 8255, it is all plastic, and feels very light, but not cheap. Screen is very good, blacks were good. Camera was great, also very very fast! The whole thing flies, loads of nice new little effects on Gingerbread, like when removing or positioning a widget

Great phone!!! For me it misses FFC (Front facing camera) to be ideal.

Yes of course specs aren't everything, and the real advance comes from software. But in smartphone markets hardware is still evolving and there is allways battery. So in these markets there can be meaningful differences in hardware.

And PSP is different thing. Its software is very narrow range of software (games) and smartphones have wide range of software. So smartphones hardware have to be better.

why do a lot of people look too much at specs? It's not everything, specs are useless if the software is not optimized. It's how you use it efficiently. =P. How come some feature phones are faster and snappier than symbians/android/bada even though they run on "very limited" hardware?

Furthermore it's not only the CPU, but the rest of the hardware, how can the PSP with 32mb RAM and 333mhz cpu output such nice 3d graphics? I'm pretty sure not even those 1ghz top smartphones can render that much polygons onscreen. Hopefully the Arc has some kind of dedicated graphics chip seeing that it has real time noise reduction and the bravia engine on it.

MSM8250 in gsmarena Arc spec page. What is that? QSD8250 I know, and MSM8255 I know. If it is actually QSD8250, I'm going to pass. It's same as in HTC Desire so...it's just old. And then there is no hope for improvements. This would be a shame. Arc is really a beauty and I really would buy it if there is better prosessor than QSD8250.

Great phone, best design ever... but unfortunaly it seems that lacks secondary videocall camera... It appears in the gsmarena specs but in couldn't confirm in any other place... It seems that those things near the earpiece are sensors... With videocall this phone would be near perfection... Anyone knows better?

This has 'exmor r technology' on its camera sensor, saying that it has microns of pixels! (no noise of pixels could see on image nor video)

and a very very good performance on low light to0!
