I very much doubt that they could. If you measure the absolute size of the bezels, the Zuk's likely already are as small as the Mi Mix's and that is where the real engineering challenge lies. Making the phone as a whole larger so that the screen-to-body ratio is greater, like xiaomi did, is easy, but meaningless, That's why I mention the records separately for phones at different sizes. 72% is a very respectable STB ratio at 5", but a midling one at 5.5". STB ratios are meaningless when you don't account for the phone's screen diagonal.
"I don't get this insistence on hardware buttons, they make the screen smaller without offering more functionality."
I see no clear evidence of this at all. Manufacturers that specialize in small bezels, like Samsung and Lonovo, seem able to squeeze hardware buttons onto the bottom bezel without a trade-off in screen size. All except one of the record holding models I mention in my previous post have hardware buttons. If what you say is true we should be seeing more 5.5", 5.7" and 6" models top the screen-to-bezel ratio charts without hardware buttons.

AnonD-442781, 04 Dec 2016Yeah, one is a concept and one is reality. And your point being? It's still not an edge to edge display. Not even nearly 1/5th of the phone's front is made out of bezels.

That way Netflix would be even more life like (movies are 1.85:1 and above, only TV shows are trully 16:9) *and* (would) actally have more screen real estate for things like browsing (when the soft buttons would be tacked away).
I don't get this insistence on hardware buttons, they make the screen smaller without offering more functionality.

My analysis of the screenshot determined the screen to body ratio to be 80%. This would be a new record for phones of 6 inches and below. Old 6 inch record was 78% (lenovo vibe z2 pro, huawei mate 8, galaxy note 7), old 5.5 inch record was 76.5% (galaxy s7 edge). Pretty impressive. Not the first time lenovo scores high on this front.

AnonD-442781, 03 Dec 2016It's an edge to edge display. How about no?
Galaxy Edge had smaller side bezels and Mi Mix (and sharp phones) smaller upper bezel.
It's an "edge to edge display" maybe in Lenovo engineers' mind, here's how an edge-to-edge phone actually looks like: https://cdn2.macworld.co.uk/cmsdata/features/3639808/new_iphone_render_thumb.jpg
Notice the difference?

ZUK UI for international market is still in beta stage n i used Z2 plus from my friend n it lacks a lot of stuff.
Funny thing is, they put a Google now launcher in a ui that mimics iphone.

Martin, 03 Dec 2016143x73x7,7mm I found it (to be) slightly bigger (calculating from the picture)
142x74x?
Not bad, but not out of this world either. Galaxy Edge is narrower and the width of a phone (of a certain size) is more important.
