This seems to be more a phone to people who just need to have a phone. Nothing more nothing less, sms and calling. For that kind of usage this seems to be a good device.
Pricing not bad, I do see market for this kind of phones.

In Australia, Telstra already has shutdown their 2G network, with Optus and Vodafone to follow in 2017.

Companies like ZTE have 3G feature phones suitable for Australia-so why can't HMD do the same with Nokia branded feature phones?

Really?? 2G (GSM) phones in 2017???
                          this must be a joke.

There are some operators already that work ONLY in 3G/4G.
the rest are leaving only 5MHZ in 2G for compatibility...
And people are looking for 3G capable phones because of better codecs...

                          this is just a shame.

The camera is basically meaningless. They could have asked like 50 bucks more and made the camera at least 3 mega pixel or something. Cause VGA stills are meaningless. Either you have a minimum acceptable quality or ditch the camera altogether.

My mother uses the Nokia 215 by the way, and its a bad phone, below average built, bad call quality, nothing is really good about the phone, I really doubt how much Nokia is it at first place.

My dad would love this! Tried giving him a Samsung Smartphone before and a 450$ device got shattered into pieces. So yeah, it's good that Nokia is somehow emerging to provide good phones like it used to before. I still have the Nokia 3310 (my first ever phone) and the monster is still alive as of this day.

Nokia seems to be just rehashing the same dumb phone with new model number now.
The least they could do is put dual 3G standby on these phones. Some countries are starting to retire their 2G bands to make room for 4G and 5G. People with 2G-only phones will soon have problems of having bricks.

Really. What would it cost today to have a 2 or 3 megapixel camera on such a phone today? Just to make it usable.
