It is weird with Christmas on way then New Years Day, Valentines Day etc and all this stuff going on that S8 feels miles away but it is not it could be announced in just 11-12 weeks.

Thick bezels is so 2007, stop asking for it, it makes the screen smaller, the phone uglier and boxy and generally is a hindrance.

On noes, the terrible pentile effects make a return.
I want my phone to also be my VR headset for my PC games (hello riftcat). Is that so much to ask? But for that the pentile matrix has to go away and 90Hz reference rate (when in Gear VR mode) added.
The above rumours just crashes my dreams for S8 being my next phone.

That is the current offer as of right now from O2. I just checked on their web site. I purchase an S7 Edge for £459 offline unlocked. I have seen it for that price just now. In six months time it will still easily sell for around £250 to £300. So I would basically be getting a free upgrade pretty much. Does getting an S7 Edge and upgrading in 6 months sound so ridiculous now?

I'm totally ok with big bezels given they make use of it.
Moderate sized side bezels are totally ok for me.
Bigger battery, bigger speakers, stereo speakers, sturdy design, extra hardware keys (camera shutter, OP3 like toggle key) better battery charging circuts, more mics etc are examples.

The monthly cost over 6 months is almost exactly the same as on a 2 year contract with 02 except I get to upgrade 18 months earlier. Using your logic you better not buy any phone at all as you obviously must think everything is too expensive.

Here's a spoiler. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 (Bigger Variant) will pack the same display as the Note 7. You think all those Galaxy Note 7 recalled would be scrapped? This article signals what I've said. Though it shouldn't be a problem. hehehe.

Someone Else, 13 Dec 2016You were planning to upgrade to the Note 7 after using the ... moreI see your point but bearing in mind I could probably pick up an S7 Edge for less than £500 now offline and re-sell it for about £300 in 6 months and use that £300 pounds towards the cost of a new phone it suddenly doesn't seem so ridiculous any more. Especially if the S7 Edge is a significant upgrade to your current phone. £200 for 6 months for a significant upgrade is not that unreasonable to my mind. The stumbling block of course is that not every one can afford that initial up front cost or wants to spend out that initial £500 in one hit. If you can though it really doesn't seem so bad any more to my mind. I fully appreciate others may not see it that way of course.
