Apple have the upper hand if Samsung really are going to released this S8 in April. So, Apple is first in making all these changes if they are going to change anything at all for the March release. Afterall, its just iphone SE 2017. Not Iphone 8 or anything.

They went from phones like the Omnia HD which was the first phone capable of 720p in playback and in recording and stepped them into the Amoled game with a nice 8mp sensor and flash and stereo speakers to a thin S1 that only the Verizon and sprint version had a flash and it was only 5mp and single speakers with no big emphasis on the speaker

And taking out the 3.5mm headset jack would just be stupid.
And apple copied them first on placement of the headphone jack anyway

The only acceptable reason for an extra delay will be, only if the S8 will be completely safe and absolutely a powerhouse, a true masterpiece of 2017 technology

Means infinity battery, zero charge time (just remove the charging port, it's irrelevant anymore) and most importantly no need to return product if battery is bad.
