Nokia X7 appears again, looks AT&T bound

14 January, 2011
More photos (well actually renderings) of the youthful looking Nokia X7 surfaced. This time we are getting to see the Symbian^3 smartphone from all sides and once again we notice an AT&T tattoo on its...

So i hope that satisfy your mis-assumption that android is similar to windows.

BehzadSOL, 16 Jan 2011Nokia, please wake up, it's 2011. No one gives a damn to sy... moreAndroid rocks, Symbian works. If you're a teenage you probably want a phone that rocks. If you're a guy that just wants things done, a phone that works is more than enough. And if it overrides any Android phone on the camera, GSM and Wi-fi signal, sound quality, GPS, HDMI, build quality like the Nokia N8 does, that you have more than enough reasons to stick with Symbian even if Android "rocks" and is "cool". At this point in 2011 there is no real competition for Nokia N8 from Android yet (I mean a phone with compact camera photo and video quality plus xenon, five band HSDPA, same quality of signal or sound, HDMI, FM Transmitter, USB OTG, video digital zoom without loss of quality, very good GPS connection with free navigation included, etc). I'll be watching Android phones when they'll have a competitive phone in all fields, not just a phone with a very fast processor.

[deleted post]lol. u got it all wrong. first of all, 'hd games' are just a marketing ploy which all started by gameloft and then followed by other companies. hd actuall refers to the amount of detqil the game has compared to java games. s60v3 phones too had 'hd games' with qvga screens. heck even android and ios have 'hd games' but their screen resolution is not even up to 720p hd level too. explain that.

second, dont get confuse between the os and the graphic card. some android 2.2 phones and iphohe 3gs had worse graphic card compared to those available in symbian'3 phones. and can u post me the link proving that the symbian 3 gpu doesnt support half of the opengl requirements of a power sgx card?

thirdly samsung didnt dump symbian 3, it was s60v5, 2 totally different versions. and the reason why samsung (and se) dumped symbian is because nokia now owns symbian and they cant provide the updates and services like what is nokia doing right now (eg ovi maps). in other words samsung and se are lazy and only hoping for other companies to do all of the hard work in developing an os while they juwt provide the hardware

FYI, HD means 1080x1920 not 360x640 as on S3 phones. Lol. The only thing relevant for games, except resolution, is openGL capability. And when you talk about openGL you want to have openGL 2.0. And Symbian 3 has less than half of the openGL extensions iOS and Android 2.2 have. Add this to the much lower resolution of Symbian compared with the other two, and if you are honest you know S3 is the worst solution for games. Btw, if S3 is so good why it was dumped by Samsumg, S-E and why Nokia moves to Meego?

YOU must try symbian 3 before talking about android

Look, the reason Symbian S60v5 lags is because it stil uses the Avkon SDK as itz UI framework which is NOT optimised fer touch screen phones, itz got nothin te do wit being fragmented blah blah blah. Only phone that Im yet te point out lags from out of the box is the iPhone 4, otherwise all others (that I have seen) lag; Galaxy S? Lag. Desire HD? Lag. Xperia X10(albeit 1.6)? Lag. Wave? Lag. Hell the 2.2.1 Galaxy S laged more than the v50 firmware 5800, and that says smethn
