[deleted post]LOL and there you go again with your fragmentation which by the way was a statement from Steve Jobs. Not sure if you know what erudite means but usually its a compliment such as scholarly. So you're saying i'm a scholarly person? Insalibrious means necrotism by the way. So again show me where does this "lag" you speak of? Have you even watched videos showing the Motorola Atrix? It flies, way more faster than anything out there. Also its only 1GHz dual core, obviously you have no knowledge of technology as a Dual core CPU each core running at 1GHz does not equal a 2GHz cpu. Again, proof or links of games running horribly on dual core cpu again?

aaptk, 17 Jan 2011gameloft has released about 15 hd games for symbian3
they ... moreand how many of those games are ports vs exclusives for Symbian? Exactly. Ports are just that, ports. You think RAGE HD is good because its HD? look at the game play buddy. Its good not because of graphics alone. Android vulnerabilities are due to its open source nature. Anyone can install an app without signing a certification like symbian apps. Thus making it much more easily attacked.
LOL you are so misinformed on updates. They add new tremendous features going from 2.1 to 2.2 on android. Where as going from one update to another on Symbian merely fixes flaws and bugs in the previous update.
Anywho if Symbian users are as "smart" as Mohit, we android and iOS users would rather you guys stay away from our devices. Just stick to your almighty Nokia. I cant wait to see what Nokia brings to the table at MWC since they are so far behind technologically. They must pull something big out of their behinds because their market share shrinks with every passing quarter, and their share prices are just pathetic these days. Invest in Motorola Mobility if you want to make any money. :)

[deleted post]gameloft has released about 15 hd games for symbian3
they have about 20-25 for android
considering how long symbian3 is on the market, its a big thing.
also, android games are only for high end phones and on a lot of them they dont work smoothly and heat up the phone. android will never really have a lot of high end games, even though there are like a million android devices. because they're all different
symbian, with all its versions, had similar hardware
android has very little in security and automation
being tied to google is a good idea and a lot of people dont think about it, same thing with ios.
also, when you go online you need to activate wlan, or gps for navigation before you can navigate or browse
which is automatic on symbian
also, there are a lot of things symbian has out of the box
yes, you can download an app to do those things on android, but they're rarely that good and can be killed if ram is low (annoying on models with low ram)
another thing is the updates
on android, you can expect 1, maybe 2 updates from android 1.6-2.1-2.2 e.g.
on symbian you get updates for your phone specifically, not just updating the os version. also you get more of them
a good example is nokia 5800, which with its newest update is as fast as iphone 3g and with a lot less bugs and more features...

The rendering looks great, but renderings often do, but the real thing... And I can't get past the camera. I hope the guys from gsmarena are wrong but so many nokias of late were spoiled with those fixed focus cameras that I have to agree with them on their bet. What is nokia thinking, putting an 8 or 5 mpix camera and then no autofocus... !? Their cameras are crap anyway, the UI is just plain stupid... I'm not fond of sony ericsson devices (actually I think they're hateful in many ways) but in the camera department they're just in a different league compared to nokia. I know you're going to throw Carl Zeiss lenses at me and I don't know what else, but in the end, at least in my opinion the UI is much better and the pics are nicer... I know there's a lot more to a phone than just the camera, but for me it's an important feature and nokia cameras are just ... crap...

mohit, 16 Jan 2011nokia X7 latest and upto 95%
confirmed feature by develope... moreWow so Nokia is so powerful they made up a whole new element? I assume you mean Neodymium, not Neodynium, it is called a Rare Earth Metal, however its actually plentiful, considering it is used in a variety of things such as magnets, power steering, MRI devices, and is used in hybrid vehicles(every Toyota Prius contains approximately 1kg of Neodymium).
When you say nHD is one a of a kind i assume you meant that only Nokia uses this resolution, as almost every other mobile manufacturer uses a higher resolution for their displays.

"Contrary to our report yesterday, it now appears that AT&T has cancelled plans to release the Nokia X7 touchscreen, which supposedly would have retailed as the Nokia Journey. According to someone close to the situation, the carrier had planned to launch the phone on February 13th (and not this month, as we had previously reported to be a possibility) -- "
It's canceled, nothing to see here
Not that big surprise with outdated cpu and memory. Nokia you can do better, right?

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2011 What do you think the people who now use Android used befo... moreNormal people don’t have a clue about what goes on in the smartphone
world. Once you understand that, you
understand that there can be no hate
for it. The only hate that exists against
Nokia is the hate conjured up by
countless blogs. I can’t tell you how many people ask me about my N8.
“What kind of phone is that? I ’ve never seen it before.” I tell them it’s a Nokia N8, and they ’re almost taken back by it because the only Nokia ’s they see here are budget ones. Others
just reply “Oh, cool” like they have no idea Nokia even exists. The kicker is
when I tell them about the camera.
The wow look on their faces makes
me smile, but then I tell them you can’t buy it at a carrier store, and they look
puzzled. The N8 presented Nokia with a golden
opportunity to enter my market, but
only if it came with PR2.0, and Nokia
convinced AT&T to spend the ad
money on it to increase awareness of
it. The camera would be the selling point and it would definitely create
buzz, but without the updated
software, I think consumers would
have compared it to other phones,
and might have passed it up for
something else in the end. But the hate that you talk about
doesn’t even exist outside of these blogs.

ARLINGTON, USA – Last week, America ’s Consumer Electronics Association released its 2010 report
into the sustainability credentials of
ten leading electronics brands such as
Intel, Dell, Panasonic and Nokia.
Overall, these electronics industry
leaders – and many others, too, of course – are making great progress in establishing ethical and sustainable
manufacturing, distribution, recycling
and reporting standards. Read below
for the highlights.
Some of the main points made about the industry as a
whole are that
=Nine of the ten largest CE
[consumer electronics]
companies by global revenue
have established corporate-wide
commitments to ISO 14001
certification and report on the number and location of ISO
certified facilities. [Nokia is one of
these. ISO 14001 is the standard
for environmentally managed
businesses, ensuring they
comply with all relevant requirements and helping them
improve over time].
=Nine of the ten largest CE
companies by global revenue
have been reporting to the
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)
since 2007 and are improving
their reports by increasing the amount and quality of data
reported each year. [And one of
these].
=In 2009, the ten largest CE
companies by global revenue
donated $882 million, in both
cash and products, to support
activities that enhance local
environments, social well-being, and/or economic development.
"The report picks out Nokia for special
comment in three areas"
~the
company’s ambitious commitment to reducing its greenhouse gas output.
~Second, for driving its suppliers to
also adopt environmental
management systems. And
~ third, for
the introduction of Ovi Life Tools. As
the reports says: The service strives to improve the
quality of life for those in
emerging markets. For instance,
the service provides farmers in
developing countries with
accurate and regular information on weather and availability of
seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and
prevailing market prices for
produce. Ovi Life Tools also
enables families to access health
and nutritional information through the healthcare service,
and enables its users to even
learn English through the
educational offering.
Ovi Life Tools is available in India,
Indonesia, and China and also
includes the recent launch of the
service in November 2010 in
Nigeria. It currently has 66.3
million users in these four markets.
