you do know that the n70 and n73, the "music key" before was a multi function key and you could assign it to the mp3 player, thus making it a "music key" already, right? because thats how i set up my phone... lol

I do agree that this is a similar move taken from a good Sony example, but the effort is lacking in the Nokia version. When SE rebranded the k750 into the w800, they actually rewrote portions of the OS to reflect the music emphysis (albeit minor changes, but still, are the reason why you can not update firmwares across the k and w series). Airplane mode (somewhat revolutionay at the time), Megabass in the completely reworked player, and the best set of headphones you could ask for in a phone package (better than most standalone mp3 players too). The first editions even had Flash Lite, but it was later removed for mysterious reasons.
Nokia got the color branding right, and it seems that they improved the software player, but my question is if you are going to brand it a music phone and create all this hoopla over the re-release, why not actually offer the high-end tech in your high-end models? At the time, the rebrand of the k750 to w800 actually meant that you were getting the best in the business. If Nokia were trying, they would have given the n73 A2DP and a better headset. Or sacrificed the now outdated mini-hardrive in the n91 in favor of a power-saving, lighter and smaller flash module--or better yet just use removable memory and offer a 8gig card in the package. That way they could have taken the n91 hardware and made it a respectable size, or thrown in a wifi chip. The k800 is a better music phone than any of these, and it was never meant to be.

The covers of the new Music Edition phones (at least N70 and N73) really vary from the basic models: instead of Multimedia key there is Music key.
The ME phones also have better music player.

They make it sound like the n70 and n73 have the 3.5mm audio jack too. but i guess they don't, right? if not, then that's my only gripe.

Sony this and Sony that... Who cares about things like who came out with this and that first. And I don´t see any sign where it would read: "We were the first to do this".
Yes, they are quite much the same phones as before, just with new colouring and better music capabilities. But what was the W800 compared to the K750? I hear nobody whining about that...
When looking at these new releases, I think the bottom-line is that if SE and the others can´t keep up, then they´ll start losing customers.

Well said knowitall. Why are the imitating SE. "Dedicated Music button" Music Ripping Software" " High Memory Capacity"
Sony brought all this to the Market in Walkman series phones and Memory Stick Duo 4Gb and soon 8Gb
But its just funny to see then bring it out as if they did it first.

I still see no mention of A2DP. If this is such a music phone, then why gloss over that area? Its because these phones aren't much different than before. Just a paint job and a new software player. They didn't re-write the OS. And the memory....I'm not exactly blown away considering you can get 8gig SD cards now and 16gig extreme 3 compact flash cards. The only reason Nokia upped the n91 to 8gigs is because Sony released the 4gig MS Pro Duos, effectively making Nokia's flagship music phone pretty standard (and still awkwardly large compared to the W Series).
Don't believe the hype.

I like the n91 but...Increasing the hdd size? better solve the crashing issue of the drives first. Keep on crashing my 4gb... and now with 8gb??? i'll just double my headache.. Would wish the n91 came with miniSD rather than microdrive..

Looking at the N70 and N73 all Nokia have done is included a 1Gb RS-MMC for the N70 and a 2Gb Mini-SD for the N73, hopefully they have updated the firmware on both handsets. (Apart from the black casing like some Nokia N80 handsets) So for either user, you can most likely get your current Non Music Edition flashed, just like people did when the W800 came out and people updated the K750i, I wonder how heavy the N91 8Gb will be now.. I suppose it is keeping up with the recently announced 8Gb Nano i suppose.

I like listening to happy hardcore, and dancing around in my underpants,
Will there be some kind of clip so that I can attach it to my Y fronts(egg shell yellow, they were white but have become stained over the years)?

Ehh...Not all SE camera phones have Autofocus, for example the W700i. And I dont believe that SE make phones with 3.5mm jacks...they just give you a cable that allows you to use a 3.5mm jack. You can get a cable to do this for most phones!
