I've got one. the battery life is terrible! i have to charge it every day and i havent even been gaming on it. The reason i havent been gaming is that apart from the awful battery life, there are barely any games avaible for it. very disappointed :-(

RD, 19 Jan 2011Sony... you know I love you very much... and I was always a... moreAmen, brother. Sony needs a wake up call. I want to see this XPERIA Play succeed, but it seems it already is being outdated by the likes of Atrix 4G when it comes to raw power and battery life. XPERIA Play needs dual-core like TEGRA 2. I am still looking forward to the PSP2's official announcement next week. I prefer my PSP over my DS, and can't wait for the successor. I prefer PSP's more hardcore-style gaming and its versatility. I love Nintendo, but they always seem to be about catering kids and gimmicks where the luster wear offs after a few months for the core gamers. The launch price of the 3DS and supposed 3-5 hr batt life is already a dealbreaker for me on launch and will wait for them to update their handhelds again like they always do.

Sony... you know I love you very much... and I was always a bit inclined towards you and your products. Indeed, right from the days you guys invented the walkman, you revolutionized the way we listen to music. I got you TVs, played games on PS, shot gr8 moments on your legendary Handycams, always enjoyed my music on sony walkman player(right from the cassette days), always preferred you VCRs and now your DVDs and BluRays, your Hifi music systems, car stereos... last but not the least... I always trusted Sony Ericsson mobile phones, no matter how grave the manufacturing defects which it seems every second model of yours has. Joysticks in K750 era phones, crappy fastport connector, keypad cracking problems in W580 etc etc... i still blindly chose you guys.
But Sony, I am tired now... I see Samsung screwing you guys in LCD/LED TV market , I see Apple screwing you badly in music dept, nintendo screwing you badly in gaming dept, Nokia on the other hand was the king always... but every other brand is screwing it now except yours!!! I am tired of defending your brandname in front of my friends/family/ the whole f-ing world... You guys are lost... remember X10... cmon guys the fone that had potential... you screwd it. Now this gaming fone of yours... I am afraid the specs may leave it behind this time too... like the X10... it will become primitive as soon as it is launched. I see Xperia Arc with great optimism... but hell I am afraid you are gonna screw that beautiful gadget as well... I am wishing to buy that one... but this time... I am too much tempted by what other brands have to offer... Dont screw your brand... you have the potential... you just dont work on it... you guys have unbeatable technology and R&D... the only problem is implementation... Please dont kill the Arc... giv it Android 3.0 b4 others do... give X10 a gingerbread upgrade... cmon youv lost your glory... its time to wake up!

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2011I wish some of you would just stop complaining. "300m... moreif this is a gaming phone it must have tegra2 platform. while performing same benchmarks lg optimus 2x doubles this crap and also 300mb internal storage is a shame. Above 16gb storage costs much but at least it should have 8gb internal memory. sony is using the ps trick to get his fanboys mind blow up :P

They had so much potential with this and left so much out. Just like they did with the psp. Even now there is time to actually get some cuting edge technology in there or in a psp, but Sony is cheap and won't do it.........

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2011I wish some of you would just stop complaining. "300m... morehave you not used an android phone before? a 32 gb memory card is indeed great but it does not directly influence app storage space. most detailed large games come in two parts:
the apk game pack and the sd card data.
the sd card data is saved to the 32 gb card at all thimes, this usually is a folder about 300mb or so in size.
The apk game pack however always has to install on the phones nternal storage. Some of these game packs are up to 35 mb in size, some even with app2sd leave 15 mb in the internal memory.
It doesn't take much maths to see that 300mb internal memory doesn't allow for much apks to be installed. Most phones since the last 6 months come with 1gb internal storage to combat this.
The htc desire for instance launched back in march 2010 with 140mb for app storage which back then was, however inhindsight now its a crippling featurew due to this size of current game file sizes.
Its an insane oversight for sony to use such little memory and if this gsm report is right then its a prewarning for se fans not to get frustrated when they recieve the low internal memory notification on their experia play

I wish some of you would just stop complaining. "300mb is an epic fail, lolz". Well, it's not. You can add your own microSD card in at your own size. It's save money. It would cost a lot more if Sony put a 32GB inside the phone. Instead, I rather the cheap 300mb, then I can put the 32gb microsd card I already have inside. A lot of space for free then!
As for the processing rubbish "MSM8225 chipset on a phone which is supposed to be used for gaming??? why don't they put a Tegra2?" I spect a MSM8225 will be fine. As long as there is no lag, why pay £££'s for a Tegra2 when it's not going to be any use?
The thing is with some of you people is that you want to buy it, then show off to your friends, "look at my phone, it has a tegra2 processor" and that's when your friend will go, 'so?'
