deep space bar, 20 Jan 2011by the time it comes out PR2.0 will be out new UI,browse... morelet's see what changes has applied to device at the time of release. I really doubt if they make any major difference. Only time can tell that...

Please make no mistake: I hate Steve, Apple and iPhone.....I have used and owned some of the best phones NOKIA has ever produced: 6630, N73, 5800XM. They were great at their time of release but things has changed dramatically. Remember 6630, it was super fast, no phone could touch it, do we have the same situation today? if Nokia wanted to make something as fast as it was in today's market, it would be equipped with something like 2GHZ dual core processor :)

speed of rendering heavy web pages, zooming in and out in mega pixel pics, opening and browsing PDF and other big office documents and many other tasks is directly related to speed of processor, efficient OS can't do much about it. A 486DX is super fast for DOS OS, but can it play 720P videos?

Peace

wow. lot's of comments. almost none about the news. huge amounts of misinformation comparing launched application to aps using no system resources. it makes it impossible to find the useful comments. why goto such lengths. are your favorite products so week that one has to resort to bashing other products? such a looser tactic. why behave like this? As a consumer I would rather push all manufactures by promoting the strengths of each product.

just because it does not need a 1ghz dual core processor to NOT make run like crap means it has outdated hardware, most likely it is efficient. ;)

sometimes Business users want to shot a HD video (i.e. from a exhibition) which EATS memory very fast. Sometimes email attachments are not so small, you know....

sometime speed of browser and overall performance of device means a lot to business users or almost anybody who values his/her time.

[deleted post]You do realise that on the android device the browser never really shuts down but remains in memory right? A more accurate test would be to open one program close it open a second program close it open a third program and so on? Or you could also open the browser on the n8 switch back to the homescreen press the browser icon switch back to the homescreen and so on.

It's about bloody time this phone was shipping already. But that's not Nokia's biggest problem IMHO.

FWIW, I reckon Nokia should continue the old naming scheme (6280, 6600, 5320 etc) for S40/S60 devices, and use the new naming scheme (X2, N8, E6 etc) for Sym^3 devices. One reason Apple is so successful is that their phone models are very distinct and identifiable. Nokia shouldn't release one handset per year, but should really try making their naming scheme make sense.

[deleted post]Oh, you replied. You know, i will enjoy a USBOTG feature as an accessory. I'm not encouraging people to buy the product just because of this addition.

And for you questioning how i do things, well, i still keep a usb flash drive as a storage because i don't go out of the house carrying a netbook all day. USB flash drives are designed for easy sharing and copying of files at a very portable size. I can't imagine myself taking out a netbook out of my bag everytime i want to share a document to my friends. All i have to do is give the flash drive to them and plug it on their own netbook if they have one or lend it to them if they don't carry one atm so they can view it with their desktop at home. If i have to print a document all of a sudden, i will go to the nearest internet cafe and hand the flash drive to the owner and be done with it. So basically, i enjoy a flash drive because of the easy sharing i can do with it in such a small size. And yes, i go to the pain of saving my files twice, one on my netbook, and one on my flash drive. /s

When you're using it as much as i do, the chances of you losing it becomes rare. And so, i never lost a flash drive not even once.

With the inclusion of USBOTG feature to a phone, if my friend want to share a file from his own flash drive, instead of using my netbook, which is probably left on my house, i will just use my phone. Instead of needing a complete computer just to do a simple task such as viewing, editing, copying, renaming, a USBOTG enabled phone comes to impress. There are many possibilities and instances when USBOTG becomes useful, just open your eyes and stop trolling.
