Running XXJPY updated from Kies, via spoofing the phone's product code to XEU.

Performance has increased out of sight. This is what the Froyo release *should* have been.

But, my SGS has 2.2 since November last year... I haven't yet checked for 2.2.1; coz 90% of the times I try, stupid KIES does not detect my phone!

Apparently, it is only the US users (maybe Canada's too) who haven't yet got their Froyo updates. The international SGS(GT i9000) have all got it.

The Samsung Galaxy S is a good phone... nah... it is an awesome phone. Superb hardware, ok looks, but the execution of Android is a tad glitchy. I guess, if it had vanilla android it would have been a gem... but Samsung needs to pull up their socks and do something about their sucky execution of the TouchWiz UI over Android.
TouchWiz isn't a bad UI, but something is seriously wrong somewhere... things which should normally be smooth aren't.
Overall performance of my SGS beats the iPhone(IMO)... but, the UI lacks the fluidity of that of iPhone or (my iPod Touch) for that matter!

Note: Samsung, please do something about KIES... makes me wanna tear my hair out trying to connect the phone to the PC!
And I really hope you address the above concerns (improve TouchWiz UI, change the File System, kick KIES on its butt) with the new Galaxy!

Note again: I really do not wanna root my phone... but you have made me do it! :P

I also use a Hero. And while all the other HTC Android phones have received updates to 2.2, encluding older ones, HTC are still slow updating this one handset. Not sure why. Maybe they hate it?

Don't cry, my HTC Hero has been updated from 1.5 to 2.1 after 9 months of the publication about official update.

Samsung have taken way too long releasing updates. I wont be buying a samsung android phone. Same as Sony Ericsson. I wont be buying one of theirs either.

And Samsung Kies is just a joke.
