Samsung Galaxy S8 may get an S Pen accessory

They might give the Note series an entirely different design with foldable display so they are giving the S8 an option of the S-Pen for users still wanting a traditional design. So essentially, they are "not killing" the Note.

What makes you think that Note 8 (if it is to exist) would be any different? A 6 inch S8 with pen *is* a Note 8. Why would you wait an extra 7 months for getting the same thing?

I don't think Samsung have any intentions of killing the Note series just yet. A Stylus would be nice even though it would be an extra. Could you get away with using an existing Note stylus B-). If the rumours of an S8 6" are true and the specs, that close to the Note if there is a Note 8 I may consider it. Other wise I'll stick the Note.

There were reports earlier in the year that Samsung had filed a patent on a system to add a stylus to a phone via some form of modular or similar attachment. Cannot remember much more. I wonder if the S8 will be the first to offer this option? Save Samsung having to product a dedicated Note device. Just hope S8 doesn't have a curved edge, not really practical when drawing.

Discontinuing the Note series, I mean the shadow that it has become now not only does not worry me, it's indicated. It's pretty much a copy of S series these days so there is no place for a new product just to add pen support.
Merely add pen support to S-Phones and you're done. And I'm saying that as a Note Lover. I regard the Note Series long dead anyway, it's much more natural to just integrate it to S-Series so that we would at least not have to wait an extra 6 months just to get pen support.
This way we will at least have up-to-date hardware (both Note 5 and 7 had 6-8 months old hardware).

If that happens plus front facing stereo speakers, I would call it the best of 2017, because those are the only missing features of the S line

Just release the s8 and note 8 at the same time because it doesn't make any sense if they delay the release of the note 8 with the same specs of the s8.
If you think about it, the s7 and note 7 has the same specs so what's the point !
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NOTE 8 !!!

Will be great with the case made for S8+pen. Better than to wait for same/similar hw later in 2017. Great comeback, there are not even other rumors about pen devices. With this you also get bigger(than old 5.7inch) and smaller phone to choose. Should do it long ago.
