I never said I believe in reti... moreI think it depends on the needs, if Microsoft wants to offer it to media producers or portable media consumers the 4k resolution would come in handy despite that I still don't feel that there is enough content in 4k, and I have a tablet that is 9.7" that I use for reading University books that has 720p resolution and I would like to have better resolution, bigger resolution if offered I believe is kinda of a good treat

I don't understand why people argue about screen resolution...most of the Surface Pro4 users as me have workstation in our houses...with big screens!!!....the idea of this Hardware is to be an ALL IN ONE....and replace everything else in only one machine.
Don't think this as only a Tablet...and hey! work great as a tablet!! but it can be anything else you want...a laptop...a tablet...a superb pc in your home with multiples monitors.
If you want to game just buy a PS4 or Xone...

Have a 3 screen setup at home (40" UHD, 2 x 32" HD), the excellent Surface keyboard makes it a great laptop and I use it as a tablet from time to time too. The battery life is not as good as a laptop, but I use a powerbank which easily gets me through a day if I need it. A small price to pay for flexability.

mir, 31 Dec 2016Go tell that to people who edit photos and video content on... moreBuying a 12 incher for business use is silly. You can by a 13 incher for less, having twice the battery life, almost the weight/size and a better keyboard/touchpad.

Unless you *need* the pen, an ultrabook would always be better for business users. 2in1s are such a bad fad obviously designed to steal Apple's thunder (and losing the point in the way).

I just hope this fad will die and excellent ultrabooks will revert being the norm, we are already being kept back by insisting in putting all the warm components underneath the screen for no reason at all (most of everybody I know use the Surface Pro ins an ultrabook mode).

                    Just an FYI.

Never leave microsoft to make anything more than the OS (because they can barely make that)

The surface tablets are completely over priced and pitiful, avoid like the plague.

You will thank me later, trust me.

Everyone is saying 4k is useless on 12" screen. But what happens when people compare S7 edge with MI5 or OP3? even if not comparing, even tech site editors complained about Xperia display resolution. according to above ideology, 1080p is useless even on 6" and phone.

So I am just saying that 1080p is more than enough for 5" to 6". Actually, as far as we believe in apple's retina concept, 1080p is nice at screens as big as 6.8"(given 16:9 ratio)

Maybe just me, but always thought the key pad could be a little better feel for better tactile enjoyment.

To lower the price of their products would put them in price competition with partners and anger them. They let OEM partners sell products that are cheaper. And there is a lot of good surface like solutions from partners for much cheaper.

I always liked the Surface devices more than the MacB... moreMore than low prices they need stores, you find plenty of apple, samsung ones, it is major deciding factor when purchasing such hi-end devices. Just by doing that they could grow +1000% in number of customers.
