So far MeeGo is in the very first stage of development (full of bugs), and there is no device on the market supporting it. It can be dropped by BMW if is too difficult or takes too long to fix. Time is money for them.
Anyway, even if it works, MeeGo has a design which goes with 1970 Ikea furniture. I doubt BMW customers will like it.

It's getting to the point where it's not terribly easy to keep track of all the in-car entertainment initiatives our wondrous connected future has in store, but here's two names you'll want to remember: GENIVI and MeeGo. The former is an industry alliance that now includes automakers GM, BMW, Hyundai and Peugeot Citroen alongside the likes of ARM, NVIDIA, Nokia and Intel, and MeeGo is the Linux-based OS that they've just decided will soon be powering our cars. Don't expect this to affect your daily drive anytime soon, but in the long run we wouldn't be surprised to hear that the Moblin-Maemo base underpins future revisions of Terminal Mode and OnStar.

And about appstore, Android has highest free to paid apps ratio. Much more apps than symbian and much more free apps. That includes video calling and connectivity apps.
Also u say Meego with Super AMOLED ???
Thats just rubbish. Super AMOLED is samsung's technology. and i dont see samsung making a meego device anytime soon.

Im a fan of both android and symbian, i use a Galaxy S and N8. How you came to the conculsion that the web experience of symbian is better than anndroid, i dont undrstand. Android is streaks ahead of symbian in terms of web browsing and web apps in general.
Symbian on the other hand is seriously optimised for a smooth performance and battery life, i dont think any OS can beat it there. Taking the N8 as an example, its processor is slower than the majority of flagship phones and i dont notice any slow down whatsoever with it, whereas my Galaxy S lags from time to time, not often, but it is noticable.
Still think that overall, if HP/Palm got their act together and gave us some decent hardware to go with WebOS/HP WebOS, that it would blow all other mobile OS's out of the water. Loved my pre and the communtiy.

how can u guys says thats meego is ugly bad.i say android is bad.android vs symbian.in android market most of apps free but don,t give a full advantage of video calling and good connectivy and also a very bad experience with web and a very bad battery backup. .now talk about symbian in ovi store maximum apps are free but in some are not free.symbian gives the full advantages of video calling with secondary camera and also gives us a good web browsing experience and a good battery backup.then who wins symbian wins.lets talk about meego os we are waiting for the n9 meego phone we all don,t know what can the meego do then please don,t insulte the meego.some specification are beliveable it. has has a super amoled capacitive touchscrren with 16m color.it is a very weighty phone below 160g.480*800 pixels of resolution gorrilla glass and oleophobic surface touch sensitive control 1.2ghz proccessor we don,t know the proccesor it intel atom or morrestone a 12mpix camera like the n8 qwerty keybord.sms treaded view bye.
