Just don't! I ditched the rookie (half-backed at best) ZUK software from my ZUK Z2 and installed a custom firmware.

In fact, there is no point selling android in china at all. They cannot use Google Play Store anyway. It is better if all smartphone in china looks like ios. Stock android just reminds them how their country the only one who cannot enjoy the real taste of android.

The way they think and do something is different from us. Nothing wrong with that. Just let it be.

                      There's no more pure Android
The ones you see on pixel aka the launcher is not part of pure android that's why there's a need for a new launcher
Googlw now launcher is already outdated and won't be updated anymore

May be the move is market driven only? Globally it will be a disaster but China only makes sense if people don't prefer Stock Android over iOS lookalike. No wonder almost every Chinese brand has iOS lookalike ROM with different names. Only if 1-2 major OS updates or at least a year support of security patches is given priority someday!

Moto is now available everywhere & Chinese hate pure Android.
It also comes with Google play store, music, photos, etc... Where Google services are unavailable in there.
Lenovo is not even interested in putting zui & vibe ui seen on china in their phones selling outside china.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2017The communist dictators i China want to have spysoftware...... moreReally, like come on....almost every smartphone and laptop IS made in China . China doesn't have a motive to install spyware or things of the such, some disgruntled employees have out of spite maybe but not China the country . Virtually all computers, computer parts , and smartphones are made or assembled in China . You are not going to get away from buying a device that's not at least some part passing through China.

They always want their custom roms to resemble IOS somehow

I have zuk z1 and i would definitely buy a lenovo or moto if they boot zui. Zui is really awesome and they have optimized zui for zui really really well.

I think chinese never taste how delicious pure power of Vanilla Android UI.

If Google really wanted to make its own branded phones they should have opted for Moto instead of selling it to Lenovo. Now Lenovo is slowly killing off Motorola. So Pixel is only way for those who want Pure Android experience.

Well that's one way of ruining the Moto brand. Put some ugly iOS rip off UI on top of stock Android. I would say the only reason they would do that is because in China at least, most sold Android smartphones are those with some pre-installed iOS UI. In China the more a phone looks like an iPhone, the better it is sold.
